Difficult episode
Zachaban16 March 2015
'The Trip' tackles infant death - a topic usually only covered in the most obscure horror movies. The writers even managed to jam gay prostitution in the mix somewhere. And yet it works.

The episodes are long enough to allow for slow transitions from one plot line into the next. No character's story is compromised, not even the ones' that have almost no screen time in this episode.

Still only 7/10 for me. Considering the subject-matters at hand, I would have liked to see stronger emotional responses. With a few exceptions (Billy, Nate) the characters seem almost bored, even when in trouble.

Fun time for Nate and Brenda, bad time for Federico

After the 3-year old Dillon dies, Federico concerns about his own baby on the road. Nate and David are going to a funeral director meeting in Las Vegas and Brenda joins them, too.

After learning that his son is gay, Ruth is having some troubles about flower arrangements and she signs to a flower club. After learning how to breath and stopping being a control freak Ruth does an arrangement successfully.

Claire is still trying to reach out Gabe, but he still refuses to get help.

David is caught having sex with a prostitute in Las Vegas and unfortunately Keith meets him in the police office and tells him get good. This will have a major place in the next episode.

While playing poker Brenda finds out Billy followed them. He even took their picture when they were asleep.

'The Trip' is sort of mixture of both drama and comedy. Especially Federico's plot is emotional. My vote to 'The Trip' is 8.6/10.
