- Before joining the Russian in Paris, Carrie has one last dinner in New York with Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. It's a tearful goodbye.
Carrie had told Big off before her farewell dinner with the girls. Carrie was ignoring all of Big's messages, so he comes to meet her at her apartment. Carrie told Big that she is moving to Paris and when he reacts, she reacts back saying that Big comes in every time she gets a little happy and defecates all over it. Carrie says she is done with Big, and it's been 6 years of nothing. Carrie had told Big to never call her again.
However, life in the City of Light doesn't live up to her expectations. She tries to befriend Alek's daughter Chloe (Cécile Cassel) by trying to solve her boyfriend troubles, but that doesn't go so well. Carrie loves the Eiffel tower, but Chloe considers it hideous with the light show at night. Alek soon gets engrossed in his own art life and has little time for Carrie. The hotel room where she stays with Alek is luxurious and very dreamy. It has a view of the Eiffel tower which delights Carrie.
She goes shopping and ends up falling inside the Dior showroom. Her purse goes flying and she loses her Carrie necklace that was kept in her purse. She starts to miss her friends. She calls Miranda, and she asks him to come back home. Carrie says that she has already been to all the museums and the shops and Alek is way to busy with his exhibit all the time. She says that she is feeling lonely. Carrie says she is thinking about Big a lot.
Now, Big doesn't know what to do and calls Carrie at her apartment, a week after she had already left for Paris. Big says that he loves Carrie, and didn't know where else to contact her, and hence hoping that she was checking messages on her New York answering machine. Charlotte was in Carrie's apartment when she heard Big's message and asked him to come for a meeting. Big says that he doesn't want to intrude if Carrie is happy, but if he has the slightest chance, he needs to know. They tell him to go to Paris and find their girl.
Samantha is asked by a local charity to give a speech for other women suffering from breast cancer. Samantha was the organizing committee for the charity benefit and had suggested that the women attending the benefit have breast cancer and need something more inspirational that a goodies bag. So, she was asked to make an inspirational speech. Chemo is giving her severe heat flashes. Smith doesn't like the speech Samantha has prepared. The speech is very patronizing to breast cancer survivors. Smith says that Samantha should keep it real and make a speech that comes from her heart. Samantha gets on stage and gets so hot that she starts swearing and sweating and removes her wig, as her entire makeup starts to drip down her face. This turns genius as other women start removing theirs. Her speech is a hit.
Charlotte and Harry start the adoption process for a baby. They have recommendation letters from a judge and from Carrie to prioritize their own application. They still have a long wait ahead of them, which can last up to a year.
