- TriviaThe cat on the roof story that Steele tries to tell:
A man leaves his cat with his brother while he went on vacation. He called his brother to check on the cat. The brother hesitated, then said, "I'm so sorry, but the cat died."
The man was very upset and yelled, "You know, you could have broken the news to me better than that. When I called today, you could have said he was on the roof and wouldn't come down. Then when I called the next day, you could have said that he had fallen off and the vet was working on patching him up. Then when I called the third day, you could have said he had passed away."
The brother thought about it and apologized.
Then he said: By the way, grandma's on the roof.
- GoofsThe title should be a play on "You're still the one for me" but has an unfortunate homophone error.
- Quotes
Winslow Craddock: I had that little gunrunning flea Kenji tight between my fingers. And I only let him go because I knew it would lead to the Palace of Heaven. His death doesn't change that. It's still mine.
Laura Holt: Palace of Heaven, what's that?
Winslow Craddock: C'mon, stupid doesn't suit you, Holt. Just give it to me and get out while you still can.
Laura Holt: Are you trying to tell me this ladies' room isn't big enough for the both of us?
Winslow Craddock: I don't like to see civilians get hurt.
Laura Holt: Is that a threat, Major?
Winslow Craddock: Consider yourself lucky. If Tanaka had found you first, he'd take a finger... and then turn nasty. Dwell on it.
- ConnectionsReferenced in Diminishing Returns: GoldenEye (2020)
Steele and Murphy Michaels put aside their differences to investigate and find that the brother's death could be linked to the Japanese Yakuza gang.
The character of Remington Steele is a film buff so there is a lot of discussion about the Sydney Pollack directed movie, The Yakuza. At the time this was a way to explain to the audience who the Yakuza actually were. The plot though had more in connection with The Third Man.
It was rather strange to see Laura kitted out in a geisha outfit.
