Laura: "What's wrong with Peppler? I'm a Peppler. You're a Peppler. He's a Peppler... She's a Peppler. Wouldn't you like to be a Peppler too?" Laura parodies a famous Dr. Pepper ad campaign of the 1970s and 1980s.
A section of the scene - in which Mr. Steele and Murphy pick a drunk Laura off of the desk and carry her out of the office - is missing in the DVD release. Originally, the scene opened with Laura staggering into the office singing The Rolling Stones song "Satisfaction." Presumably, this portion of the scene was removed due to copyright or licensing issues with the song, as it is one of several music-related changes and cuts made for the DVDs. The opening of this scene was also removed from the A&E broadcasts in the mid 1990s, but the late 1980s broadcasts on The CBN Family Channel (now "freeform") had it intact.
An early example of simultaneous dialogue between the two protagonists later made famous by the same writer in Moonlighting.
