An interesting product of its times.

In the early to mid-1970s, Blacksploitation were the rage. So, it's not surprising that this episode of "Police Story" seems inspired by the craze...with black murderers, gangsters and the like throughout the episode.

The show begins with a gangland-style killing. While the two thugs are blasting apart a guy with a shotgun, the other intended victim runs..but they catch him. Later, after the cops find one of the guys still alive, Lt. Bennett (Christopher George) tells him "Your buddies dead....you're missing half your guts...and I'm looking for suspects"! This gives you some idea of the tough sort of episode it is.

Overall, this is a very good episode...mostly because it avoided many of the bad cliches and stereotypes of blacksploitation while still keeping some of the style. Worth seeing.

pretty unsavy for a cop show

These cops say homocide instead of homicide ... apparently their lines coaches can't spell either ... pretty drab and dull performances ... you could do better
