  [Anthony catches up to Leighton, who has placed his equipment on the ground as he searches for the trunk key] 

  Michael Anthony : I realize that you have a financial problem.

  Ken Leighton : Look, mister. I'm gonna have more of a problem if you don't give me a break.

  [Anthony is digging through his briefcase]

  Ken Leighton : Look, mister, all I need five dollars. I don't...

  [Examines the check] 

  Ken Leighton : That is a check for a million dollars.

  Michael Anthony : It certainly is. And the taxes on it have already been paid.

  Ken Leighton : [Speaking a little too loud for Anthony in a public area]  $1,000,000! A cashier's check for $1,000.000!

  Michael Anthony : [Looking around to be certain no one is overhearing]  The donor must remain anonymous.

  Ken Leighton : It's got my name on it. My name on a m...

  [Anthony winces as Leighton will not speak more softly; Leighton then whispers] 

  Ken Leighton : a million dollars?

  [Anthony nods] 

  Michael Anthony : It's all yours, Mr. Leighton

  [Producing a document] 

  Michael Anthony : if you'll simply sign this paper, indicating that you agree to the conditions of the gift.

  Ken Leighton : A minute ago, I was going crazy because I didn't have $5.

  Michael Anthony : You simply agree not to tell anyone, except your wife, the exact amount or how you received the money. If you should tell, you will forfeit whatever remains.

  Ken Leighton : [almost shouting]  A minute ago I didn't have five dollars!

  [Anthony winces again; Leighton whispers again] 

  Ken Leighton : And now I've got a million dollars.

  [Anthony nods] 

  Michael Anthony : [Pushing the issue]  If you will sign here, please.

  Ken Leighton : And I didn't even invest in a scheme. Just out of the blue, a million dollars.

  Michael Anthony : The paper.

  Ken Leighton : Huh? Oh! Sure!

  [Leighton quickly reads aloud the entire document. As he signs his name, he says] 

  Ken Leighton : Ken Leighton.

  Michael Anthony : Thank you, Mr. Leighton

  [Returning the agreement to his briefcase] 

  Michael Anthony : And, uh, good luck.

  Ken Leighton : And I... I can cash this check at any bank, today?

  Michael Anthony : Yes.

  Ken Leighton : And I can buy presents?

  Michael Anthony : Anything you want.

  Ken Leighton : [Leighton starts to run off with his check]  Thank you. Thank you very much.

  Michael Anthony : Oh, Mr. Leighton, you forgot your, ah, your equipment.

  Ken Leighton : Equipment? What equipment? Oh, you keep that. That's a... that's a present.

  Michael Anthony : [Runs off]  But I don't use it. I mean I...
