Tina DiJoseph plays one of Sheriff Push's Texas Rangers (she's the one who comforts Allison on a very bumpy flight). Nine episodes later, DiJoseph would join the show as a series regular as the Mayor's Liaison, Lynn DiNovi. In real life, DiJoseph is married to the show's creator, Glenn Gordon Caron.
The show was initially pitched to ABC who turned it down.

On the extended DVD version of this pilot episode, Bruce Gray makes a brief, uncredited appearance as Joe's dead father. Television viewers wouldn't have seen him until the second episode, Suspicions and Certainties (2005).
