Tear down this wall!

Warning: Spoilers
For younger viewers of the current Netflix generation, you may have been exposed to the cold war through the Netflix series Chernobyl, but here this 1981 episode of Magnum, P. I. gets a head start for sure with cold war and all, and defections on the cards.

The current leader of the former U. S. S. R was in his late 20s when this episode debuted, so he would have a chuckle at the plotline set in Hawaii.

Anyway, I like watching the early year episodes of Magnum, catching the sunshine, the beaches, the scenery and what makes things Hawaii. Anyway, I haven't bothered to watch the reboot so yes I can't say if that's better.

Intrigue and action; another fun installment
DVD_Connoisseur30 October 2018
Beginning with an expensive airborne action sequence, this is top drawer entertainment.

The chiselled Jeff Pomerantz plays the defecting Russian pilot, Yuri Dolgof. He resembles a blond Mel Gibson, not surprising that Nina (Susan Heldfond) has fallen for him.

The terrific Allan Rich plays a suited and very sweaty Russian agent.

Another ensemble episode, all the main characters shine.

Great fun.

Cold War Magnum!
mm-393 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Cold War Magnum! I like this Magnum installment. Magnum being an ex navel intelligence officer assignment must help a Russian defector. From Moscow to Maui starts out strong with a Soviet pilot defecting with plane and all and the pilot wants to be reunited with his wife who is on a Olympic team. There is a comical use of Higgens, spy games, and plot twists. One of the better written Magnums with a memorable ending! From Moscow to Maui is on my top five list. 9 stars.
