Horsing around

Christine Belford guest starred in everything you can imagine, and I always found her a welcome addition to any show. She has an understated sexiness that always came across. I first noticed her in her recurring role in Banacek, where she played a competing insurance investigator and his sometimes lover.

Here, she and her uncle own a valuable show-jumper and she's received a threat her horse, the boringly named "Norman", may be "horse-napped". Magnum is hired for security and of course he recruits Rick and T. C. to aid him during the contest. They look quite dasing in their slate gray tuxes and top hats. :-)

Shortly after, Magnum checks out Norman's buyers when they show up with lots of paperwork and a check for $250,000. Then the REAL buyers show up ...

Lighter episode from Season 1

"Adelaide" is an entertaining episode from the first series.

Christine Belford plays the pretty and shy Adelaide Malone, a horse owner whose pride and joy Norman is being threatened by potential horse-nappers.

There's some comedic content from Roger E. Mosley and Larry Manetti at the races and some less-than-convincing action.

7 out of 10.

Giddy up!

Warning: Spoilers
This is an interesting horse-themed episode of Magnum, P. I., and I was kind of expecting Magnum to saddle up and take the reins to bring home the bacon with all these metaphors. Anyway, there's a ranch or Dallas kind of feel to this episode which guest starred Christine Belford who kind of looks like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Anyway, I almost expected Magnum to rise the horse over TC's helicopter blades but back then there was no CGI to allow such a thing.

Anyway, this episode is worth watching once to see Magnum's interaction with a horse and also his volleyball skills at the end of the episode.
