First of two appearances by Jack Soo. He would later appear in the Season 3 episode "Payday" (1975), as a traveling jewel merchant, Korea's self-styled "Tiffany on Wheels", who sells Frank two sets of pearls, a genuine set for his wife, and a fake set for Hot Lips.
Although this was the second episode to air, it was actually the third to be filmed.
The opening scene has Hawkeye and Trapper operating without masks on. Obviously, this is strictly against regular medical protocol but was probably done as the producers didn't want to obscure their lead actors' faces.
The first episode where Hawkeye et. al finances a deal by taking something from someone ( usually, but not this time for his own gain) without their knowledge or permission. This would become a pattern for the series.
As things worked out, Trapper's answer to Frank's question "Where's Father Mulcahy?""We started without him.", could be interpreted as a breaking the fourth wall inside joke as William Christopher wasn't in the pilot episode and this is the second episode...so they essentially started filming without him.
