The Department Store

Warning: Spoilers
David Banner(Bill Bixby) is working an overtime shift at a department store with another employee named Karen Mitchel(played by Anne Lockhart). Unfortunately, that happens to be the same night that two crooked brothers(played by Stanley Kamel & Paul Picerni) plan to rob it, as one of them was a former employee who thinks he has it all worked out, but wasn't counting on the newly installed security system that traps them all, though David pretends to throw in with the crooks in order to come up with an escape plan, though it will of course be the Hulk that gets them out... Inventive episode with a good cast(including Parley Baer as a security guard) and direction.

Hostage Situation

Warning: Spoilers
This is your classic hostage drama episode: While David, his pretty co-worker Karen, and an elderly security guard are doing the night shift at a big department store, two brothers break in to steal the small fortune sitting in the store vault. When they find David and co., they take them hostage.

I like that there's plenty of character development given to the criminal brothers; towards the beginning of the episode, you actually sympathize with them. There's plenty of drama and tension, some typically great wit from David, and the whole thing just makes a nice change of pace from a typical installment of The Incredible Hulk.

The downsides? David is placed in a predicament involving a busted freight elevator which is so contrived that it's laughable. The Hulk falls in love with a dark green-colored mannequin; even for the Hulk, this is offensively insulting to his intelligence. At the end, the store manager is fired because he had the security guard watch David to make sure he didn't steal anything, which the boss says "endangers the lives of my employees". Um, how so?

But these are all nitpicks, and there are equally as many good bits worth mentioning. Like David pretending to be a scheming criminal. Or when the Hulk pushes the vault door on top of one of the brothers, who then asks Karen if she's okay. Karen calmly replies "I'm just fine" as she picks up his dropped gun and aims it at him. Not an exceptional episode, but solid entertainment.
