I just began this wonderful - so far - TV series from the late sixties and I am already amazed. The structure and acting are over the top. A big gold bullion heist is pulled on a remote airfielf in England - a kind of Great Train Robbery, but for a plane carrier - and a superintendant is in charge of the investigation. Peter Vaughan is the lead cop. But it seems he is not necessarily the ONLY lead character here. Supporting ones are very important too. Such as in this episode where the marksman, one of the gangsters who pulled the caper, is mainly involved. This topic focuses on him and his private life. I guess that in the other épisodes, the lead cop will explore the other aspects of the very organized and complex robbery involving a real military like commando in the pure SAS style. So our superintendant will probably have to investigate on many other dudes. The scene in this episode where the mrksman finds his wife in bed with her lover is exquisite....Best ever I guess for this very same situation. And the identification scene, as the same you had in Peter Yates' ROBBERY, is very good too. I'll keep in touch for other episode of the UK crime series which I highly recommand.
