This episode was going to be the last in the series, but letters from fans to Will Smith and NBC meant that the show ran for two more seasons.
The montage of Will training for the fight is a parody of a similar sequence from "Rocky" including Will running in the same places as Rocky, a trainer that looks like Mickey, punching slabs of beef in a meat locker, and climbing the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art all to the theme from "Rocky," "Gonna Fly Now." Will even makes faces similar to Sylvester Stallone when the montage is finished.
It is revealed by Will that Omar is the one who spins him over his head in the opening credits.
Reno Wilson, who played Steve in this episode, would go on to have a minor role The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's drama re-imagining, "Bel-Air"; he plays James Lewis, who is Uncle Phil's partner at the law firm.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is Will Smith's Hometown in Real life.
