- Enterprise escorts Tellarites to peace talks with Andorians. While transporting they rescue Andorians and say the Tellarites attacked them. Enterprise is soon attacked by an Andorian ship, and Archer must prove who is responsible.
- Enterprise agrees to escort Tellarite delegates to peace talks with Andorians. En route they rescue several Andorians who abandoned the ship Kumari, who insist it was Tellarites who attacked them. When Enterprise is soon attacked by the same ship which now appears to be a Andorian ship, Archer must prove to the warring races that a third party must be setting them up to fail at their attempt at peace.—Meribor
- On 12 November 2154, the Andorian battle cruiser Kumari of Commander Shran is attacked and destroyed by a Tellarite warship. Meanwhile Captain Archer is preparing to receive the Tellarite Ambassador Gral and his delegation that will negotiate peace with the Andorians in the distant planet Babel One on board of Enterprise. When his guests are duly lodged, Arched is informed by the bridge that they had located a distress signal from Kumari and they head to the spot. They rescue nineteen survivors from the complement of eight-six of Kumari and bring them on board. While having a conversation with Shran, the Enterprise is attacked by an Andorian warship. Gral and Shran blame each other for the attacks, but Archer and T'Pol discover that the vessel actually has a sophisticated camouflage system to lure both sides and avoid their accord.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- It is November 2154, and Captain Archer and Ensign Sato spend time preparing for the arrival of Ambassador Gral (Lee Arenberg) and the Tellarite delegation, by practicing being blunt, complaining, and arguing (Tellarites are a species that thrives on arguing). En route to the trade summit on "Babel One" (to settle a trade dispute between the Tellarites and the Andorians), they detect a distress call from the Andorian warship, Kumari, now under attack. Enterprise alters its course to assist, and arrives to find Commander Shran (Jeffrey Combs), Lieutenant Talas (Molly Brink), and 17 other survivors in escape-pods (the Andorian ship had 86 crew on-board). Archer goes to meet him in Sickbay, and an angry Shran claims that both the Andorian Ambassador's and his ship were attacked and destroyed by a powerful Tellarite vessel.
Scans of the debris indicate Tellarite weapon signatures, and recovered sensor data shows a Tellarite vessel firing. With both delegations on board, and accusations of duplicity rising between the groups, Archer considers taking the Andorians to their home-world. At full warp, Enterprise is suddenly attacked by an Andorian ship. When attempts at communicating fail, Archer demands that Shran intervene - he complies by explaining how to knock out its shields - but the attempt is ineffective. Enterprise is spared only when the attacking ship has to retreat because of a fluctuating power grid. Andorians blame Tellarites of capturing of their ships and enhancing its systems to attack the Enterprise as an Andorian ship.. T'Pol then notices that the "Andorian" and "Tellarite" ships have the same energy signature. The alien vessel is then tracked, and it appears to be capable of disguising itself using a holograph. It is shown that the Romulans are controlling the ship.
Meanwhile, Commander Tucker, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed and two MACOs beam aboard the ship, only to find it deserted and without life support. The Romulan handlers decide to attack the Enterprise. Although the MACOs are beamed back, the transporter is damaged before Tucker and Reed can be rescued. They are able to locate an oxygen supply within the ship's systems (Its the oxygen filled in the ship's thrust providing engines), but become stranded when the Enterprise warps away, and make their way to an empty bridge. The Romulans pursue the Enterprise as they think the humans have seen to much and cant be allowed to escape. T'Pol finds data that the ship that attacked them had the same tech as the ROmulan minefield that they encountered 2 yrs ago.
Shran is unconvinced that the attacks are not from the Tellarites, and using Talas as a distraction (who manages to seduce the guards around Gral), manages to escape and capture Gral, before order is restored. However, when Archer convinces Shran to examine the evidence (that the ROmulans are attacking both sides), a member of the Tellarite delegation is able to wrest a weapon from Talas, and shoots her. On Romulus, it is revealed that the ship is actually a drone, controlled by a pilot under the command of Romulan Admiral Valdore (Brian Thompson), supported by a scientist called Nijil (J. Michael Flynn), in an attempt to prevent a regional detente. The Romulans detect the presence of Reed and Tucker on-board their drone and take evasive measure to try and kill them.
