Gerard Kennedy: Sen. Det. Frank Banner

Quotes

  • [first lines]

Det. Mick Peters : Reckon we're on a wild goose chase?

Sen. Det. Frank Banner : Could be. This visitor's usually right on the ball.

Det. Mick Peters : Maybe they won't pull it off this time. Just our luck.

  • [last lines]

Norman Rice : I never was much good with women. My wife reckoned I was just plain dull.

[Vickers puts a photograph in front of Norman]

Norman Rice : She left me for a car salesman. Second-hand cars. I had to try and bring up the kids myself and when I met Faith, I thought she was the answer, but. How long will I get?

Det. Sgt. Keith Vickers : Hard to say. You've put in twenty years of honest service at the bank, that will be taken into consideration, about twelve months.

    Norman Rice : And Faith?

Det. Sgt. Keith Vickers : As an accessory, she'll get at least twelve months and there may be other charges to follow.

Norman Rice : [Shows Vickers the picture in front of him, which is of him with his children]  What am I going to do about them? Who's going to look after them?

Det. Sgt. Keith Vickers : Well, have they got any relatives they can go to?

    Norman Rice : No.

Det. Sgt. Keith Vickers : We'll try and get the welfare people to arrange something.

Sen. Det. Frank Banner : We'll keep you informed, Mr. Rice.

[Mr. Rice gets up from his chair and leaves, followed by Banner]
