Splendid!
DVD_Connoisseur21 June 2007
From the opening scenes at the engagement party of a rapper, the wonderfully named Krazee-Eyez Killa, this is superb stuff. Larry gives advice on song lyrics and ends up hearing a secret from Killa. As Larry is the world's worst confident, it's only a matter of time before something happens.

Chris Williams is excellent as the aforementioned rapper, who is due to marry Wanda (Wanda Sykes).

Larry David is at his panic stricken best and this is one of the finest episodes of the third season.

9 out of 10.

Warning: Spoilers
"I hear you poppin' them bubbles." One of the best Curb episodes and every time I watch it, it never fails to make me laugh, and find new things to laugh about, like the irony of Krazee telling Wanda about Larry's view on oral sex.

Spoilt only slightly by continuity gaffs

Warning: Spoilers
This episode really hit the spot apart from two continuity gaffs. The disappearing bubble wrap plus, after Larry tries the jacket on in Krazee's house, he picks his jacket up from the coat hook but you never see him put it there.

Minor points though - watched this with all the family and everyone was in hoots of laughter. 'Are you my Caucasian ?' has now become common parlance in our house along with adding 'and sh*t' to the end of most sentences.

Larry's fear of retribution was incredibly convincing. I wanted to run away from town with him.

Splendid stuff.

The rapper
jotix1005 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Wanda Sykes has gotten engaged to a successful rapper, Krazee Eyez Killa. Cheryl has thrown a party to celebrate and Larry gets acquainted with the boyfriend who can't wait to tell him about his adventures in oral sex. Larry is completely taken aback by the revelations. When asked about if he does it, Larry only can say his neck hurts afterward.

Larry goes to Jeff and Susie's new house. She offers to give him a tour, but he declines because he has seen one tour too many. Susie tells him to get out of the house. When he gets home he has a conversation with Cheryl about what he has learned from Krazee Eyez and she decides she must tell her best friend about it, something that Larry didn't even consider would happen.

Because of a scene must be repeated on a Martin Scorsese's movie where Larry has been cast as a mafioso, he has to bring the jacket that was part of his costume back to the shoot. He panics when Cheryl tells him she threw the thing out, but she remembers the name of the store. He goes to the place on Melrose and finds there is one piece still left and it fits him perfectly. When he looks at a sweater, he tries to fold it back the way he found it, but the salesman wants to do it himself. That resulted in a confrontation where the salesman tells him to get out of his store.

Not finding Cheryl at home, he thinks she had gone to tell Wanda what she had heard. Not knowing where to find her, he is able to track down Krazee and goes to the rapper's crib. It is an ornate house with the worst decoration style anyone can imagine. When the rapper offers him a tour, he doesn't decline because of his past experience. The good thing is Krazee has the exact same jacket in a closet and insists Larry take it.

When Larry finally finds Cheryl she is in a night spot with Wanda and Barbara having drinks. Wanda tells everyone she is going to confront Krazee because she knows he's cheating on her. Cheryl, who feels in a romantic mood asks Larry to dance a slow number with her, but he refuses. Little prepares him when Krazee knocks on his door to accuse him of telling Wanda what he told Larry in confidence. As a revenge, Krazee demands Larry returns his jacket.

That night when they get to bed fireworks happen, but the following morning finds Larry complaining about a hair stuck in his throat. He must go to the studio to repeat the scene in which he has a small speaking part. Scorsese is beside himself because Larry has not brought his costume back, but the wardrobe mistress happens to have another one. As the scene is played, Larry is seen almost choking because of the hair still stuck in his throat.

Two points are made in this episode, the tour of new houses, something we agree to do when we really hate it, and the way rumors are so prevalent in that environment. Wanda's friendship is put to a test as she hears those nasty rumors about her intended. Having taking one tour too many is something most of us don't want to do ever again.

This chapter was directed by Robert B. Weide. Chris Williams makes an impression as Wanda's fiancé. Wanda Sykes is also good as the wronged woman. Susie Essman also does what she does best without much effort. Larry does what most of us like to do with the packing bubble wrap by jumping on it to hear the sound.

My favourite episode

Warning: Spoilers
CYE is arguably one of, if not the best comedy TV shows and this episode is the best in my opinion thanks in large part to Krazee. His character had me in stitches from the very beginning with the opening rap party, to the tour of the house....superb. Larry and Krazee's interactions will have you rewinding this episode and watching over and over.
