The ex-con who drove him is found murdered in the car's trunk, but not the last on Grissom's trail. Rittle's young daughter Sasha is missing and the suspect, a socialite chameleon, is seen on a private flight to Miami. Grissom sends Catherine there. Luckily Lieutenant Horatio Caine of the Miami CSI team takes brilliant charge, realizing it's the MO of a Florida serial killer of socialite couples, who spared the girl but eliminated all other witnesses and clearly isn't done yet, even sets a trap for the police.—KGF Vissers

- Retired Las Vegas police commissioner murdered at home, wife and daughter missing. Unidentified dead man in trunk of chief's car with chief's cap, his name inside brim. Jim Brass gets a call there is a description of the daughter seen walking along a Florida highway. Gil and team are shown processing the crime area. Grissom comments, one of us should be down there to process. Gill tells Catherine to take Warrick, I don't think he has ever been to Florida; just over eight minutes into the story and there are Miami aerial pictures.
On a remote and secluded dirt road a cop is shouting instructions to fellow police, i.e. the description of the girl, her clothing, the distance she probably is from the scene. Horatio walks along a dirt road finding a hair barrette, picking up the clip, he sees Sasha, calls out to her, she is sitting off the road. They begin to talk as he shows her his badge. He says to her, "What do you say we sit here and get found together?" She nods in agreement.
Willows and Warrick arrive by copter, greet Horatio, he points to Sasha sitting on tailgate of patrol vehicle. Catherine introduces herself, takes tape evidence off of her top garment. She is holding a cartridge left when a man shot at her as she was running from his car. Her mother was in the car with her shouting for her to run away. Calleigh looks at the cartridge, identifying it as a Glock knock-off, common in Florida. Warrick holds a bag of more cartridges. Deduction has Horatio commenting the shooter was coming home to Miami.
Doc. Robbins pulls nine millimeter slugs from man in trunk similar to bullets in chief. No GSR on body making Gil say I guess he did not shoot the Chief. He was the Chief's driver.
Sidle and Stokes are taking prints off of the party stemware. Stokes gets a hit from prints from a rocks glass. The identification is Tiffany, a show girl, and an escort at the party. Gil and Nick Stokes interview escort Tiffany. Her date smelled of cheap cologne, sweet and cheap, she said. Her date was not in the circle of people invited to such affairs. Tiffany says she has not seen her date since the party. The aroma of the date was a sickly sweet odor, indicating cheap to Tiffany, finally giving her date's name as Adam van der Welk.
Warrick finds a pill on the same road near to where Horatio found Sasha. Warrick id's the pill as a sedative. Calleigh explains that is why the mother couldn't escape with her daughter, she was incapacitated. Horatio guesses why the killer stopped in an isolated spot; to take a leak, stepping away from the car into the growth. Horatio find footprints and the urine evidence. Warrick takes a sample for DNA.
Horatio and Willows are waiting for the FBI at a hotel, between lobby and poolside. Speedle meets the FBI guy in the lobby, learning the suspect favors the rich, killing the husband first, the wife later. Gil phones Catherine with the Tiffany information, i.e. sweet sickly smell of body fragrance and the name he gave Tiffany. Horatio confronts the FBI man, Dennis, learning the hotel they are in is where the Chief stayed last winter, it is also where the killer works his plans. Calleigh whispers Spanish to Horatio, while they walk away.
They are at a water site joined by Catherine and Warrick. Delko is there in scuba gear and Horatio has rifle ready in case of alligators. Delko finds the submerged car, Nevada plates, car pulled out, containing Mina Rittle, wife of Chief Duke Rittle, mother of Sasha. Horatio says our guy's still in the wind folks, looking away from the rescued vehicle.
Catherine, about to watch the exam, identifies Mina for Alexx, with Horatio observing. Alexx examines Mina, commenting she was wrapped in plastic for sexual reasons, two gunshot wounds, one was through-and-through, handing Horatio the duct tape from Mina's mouth, telling him it is for trace to analyze. The water in lungs means she was alive when she was put in canal, appears eyes are glued shut with a gold crusty substance. Alexx finds more gold substance in the ears, and guessing in every orifice as she looks between the body's legs, commenting you guys got a sick one.
Delko surfaces in the water where the car was pulled, hands a Beretta knock-off pistol wrapped in a bag to Speed who is on a dock. Delko will notify everyone the killer is not carrying his own gun.
A police sketch-artist is trying to get a description from Tiffany of the suspect. Stokes looks on as artist composes a caricature. Another police sketch-artist does the same from Sasha's description; Willows has both drawings. One description of a husband, the other description is a monster, leading Stokes to tell Catherine eye-witnesses are as reliable as evidence, per Grissom.
Horatio tells Catherine the plastic wrap Mina was in contained honey. Horatio tells her when you add plastic wrap it is different situation. A bar where it is the norm for the patrons to dip apples into the honey after it has been poured on models working for the bar. Horatio gets a swab sample from a model; Willows watches the evidence collection.
Horatio and Willows talk to the honey-bar door-man. They trace the honey bought from a limo driver named Gordon. Willows says the high-roller was from Vegas right? The door-man says yes.
Delko pulls over limo driver Gordon Daimler, he is awaiting his wealthy clients. Willows checks the limo booze, just vodka and gin, no sweet aroma from either. Horatio tests the air-conditioning vents revealing to Willows same sickly smell as Grissom described.
Gil asks Tiffany to smell the inside of the chiefs hat. She says it is same sickly smell from her date she also said he drank strictly champagne. The killer got rid of the driver in the trunk of the chief's car and he wore the chief's cap.
Grissom tells Catherine the suspect's body expels excess glucose because he is a diabetic; a prescription of insulin would be in order. The urine test showed artificial insulin, means he was taking a prescribed insulin. Horatio and Catherine check the database of prescriptions Gordon Daimler appears on the list. He did not give off any odor when they met him because he likely just took his insulin.
They have the address of the limo driver but it is at an exclusive location on the waterfront---Horatio says I don't think so. Cross-checking the address, it shows the couple's names as Dylan and Sissy Corwin, the couple Gordon mentioned he was picking up at the airport when Delko stopped him. Horatio speculates Gordon moves into the house when the couple is away since he is their limo driver. Willows speculates Gordon flies to Vegas, kills the husband, brings the wife back to Miami, rapes and kills her.
Horatio, Willows, Warrick, Calleigh enter the Corwin house, guns drawn. Warrick finds blood trail leading to the garage. Horatio and Willows find honey in the shower. Mrs. Corwin was raped, then wrapped in plastic. Catherine found a plastic piece in the bed leading both to the honey splattered shower. Warrick finds blood in the garage, with hair follicles on the floor in the blood; he shot her and dragged her to the car. Willows said he wrapped her in plastic by the bed, raped her, dragged her into the shower.
Speed asks Horatio and Catherine to step out to the dock; their boat is missing. A search is put out for the boat, which was located, FBI snipers aiming at the boat, body heat sensors indicate activity on board as blue means dead, red color is alive, pink means person is dying Calleigh says body language does not look like attack. Horatio backs off FBI sniper. Horatio boards, finds Mr. Corwin with Mrs. dead; Mr. Corwin says he tried to save her. Horatio sees a picture of the Corwin's plane; has FAA stop the plane. Calls for emergency vehicle to help save Mr. Corwin.
Gordon is sipping champagne on the plane when Horatio boards, gun pointed at him, Willows frisks him, he is clean, Horatio blows off his story. Horatio states I would rather call Dylan Corwin at the hospital. Catherine says he didn't die, providing enough evidence to convict you in two states. Gordon gets lead off the plane in cuffs.
Horatio walking with Willows, I going to go book this guy, want to go with? Catherine answers, Nah. You got it. Willows comments I'll have my DA call your DA.
Horatio sits next to Sasha on the beach. Sasha to Horatio, "My mommy and daddy are dead, aren't they?" Horatio responds, "Well your aunt is flying in to talk to you." Sasha, "That's a yes." Horatio's consoling words to Sasha are worthy and he asks her to remember how hard her mother and father "fought like heroes for you. Will you remember that for me?" Sasha nods in agreement.
