In the words of Jason McCord:
A stage coach was transporting four people. One of the men on the stage was a prisoner named Pierce Crawley, who was being transported by Texas Ranger Tuttle. He had killed four men, two of which were Texas Rangers. The other two passengers were a married couple: Major Tom Rock and his wife, Laura.
I stopped the stage coach and asked the driver if I could have a ride to Fort Worth. He allowed me to squeeze in just made the prisoner sit on the floor. Well, I knew who the prisoner was, and I knew he had a twin brother who was still on the loose. I also knew the married couple. Major Rock had testified against me at my trial.
It didnt take long for trouble to start. Frank Crawley and his men started shooting at us. The Texas Ranger, me, and the Major all started shooting back, as did the two men up on top. The Texas Ranger died soon after. Then I saw the shotgun man fall off. I ordered the Major to cover me while I got up on top of the coach. The major wasnt really shooting, much to his wifes disgust. I didnt have time to make him shoot either! Before the shooting ended, the stagecoach driver was killed.
I drove the coach to the relay station and told the station master what had happened. He started bragging that he could have done it one-handed. As I started to uncuff the prisoner, he drew a gun on me. I had no choice but to take his handcuffs off. Soon, we were all HIS prisoners.
You may not believe this, but Mrs. Rocks the one who helped save us. Her husband just sat there, to afraid to do anything. She was quite disgusted that he was the coward. She convinced Pierce to go outside with her. While they were out, the old man was able to untie his rope. He went for his gun when Pierce came back in. Even though the old man surrendered, Pierce shot him. But then, Laura Rock was able to pull a gun on Pierce. She came to untie me when the shooting started.
I just kept firing out the window. At some point, the Major decided he was ready to be brave and went out to talk to them. They shot at him, and I had to go out and rescue him from those men. I made sure he understood that it was Laura who wanted him rescued.
The showdown finally ended after I killed Frank. Pierce went out and mourned over the death of his brother. I guess you can say that saved the marriage of Major Tom and Laura Rock. They had the coach all to themselves as I delivered the prisoner.
