When the taxes on Bee's game show prizes have to be paid, she sells all of them except the TV set and her garbage disposal. Those she kept.
Then, just nine weeks later in the episode "Lost and Found," Bee believes she lost Aunt Martha's antique pin and ends up filing a $275 insurance claim. When the check arrives Andy encourages her to spend some of it on a garbage disposal. She agrees and replies by saying, "I did hate giving up that one I won in the Hollywood contest."
Floyd tells Andy that he's tired from the party last night, and you can't do that in the middle of the week or you'll burn yourself out. A moment later Bee tells Andy that she's going to the beauty shop because it's Saturday.
When Goober is looking through Opie's autograph book, he remarks on Audie Murphy's signature saying, "Look at how he makes his 'Y's. I wish I had a 'Y' in my name." He does have a 'Y' in his name. His last name is Pyle.
For Clara to buy the mink coat directly after Bee sells it is simply not consistent with her character. Even in "A Trip to Mexico," she bristled mightily over the idea of Bee buying the same straw purse as herself. In the next season she will wear a platinum-blonde wig directly in Bee's footsteps ("Aunt Bee's Crowning Glory").
Aunt Bee readily grabs Goober's cake and shoves it down the garbage disposal to show everyone how it works. But in just a few episodes, "Lost and Found," both she and Andy will jump all over Opie for wasting food by crumbling a piece of toast into the disposal.
