President David Palmer : I asked you here to help me: not make things worse. I did not want you going to Alan Milliken's house
Sherry Palmer : Relax, I didn't go there
President David Palmer : You didn't go?
Sherry Palmer : No
President David Palmer : [Leans forward on his desk] when we spoke on the phone, you told me it was crucial you speak to Julia in person
Sherry Palmer : Yes, and I changed my mind. I spoke to her over the phone
President David Palmer : About what?
Sherry Palmer : About Kelly's disappearance, I asked her if she would check Alan's cell phone and see if there were any recently made calls
President David Palmer : And?
Sherry Palmer : [Shrugs] she wouldn't do it
President David Palmer : You don't take no for an answer, what aren't you telling me?
Sherry Palmer : Nothing, I swear
President David Palmer : What've you been up to since we last talked if you weren't at Milliken's?
Sherry Palmer : Making calls
President David Palmer : You could've made them from here
Sherry Palmer : Yes but I didn't. I parked on the side of the road, I started making calls because I didn't want to wait. I told you we have a small window of opportunity here, I wanted to exploit the fact that Milliken may not have had time to cover his tracks when he had someone grab Kelly
President David Palmer : Alright, I have other things to attend to
Sherry Palmer : Ok, is there anything else?
President David Palmer : That's it
-
Sherry Palmer : What's wrong?
President David Palmer : Alan Milliken is dead
Sherry Palmer : What? How?
President David Palmer : Why don't you tell me?
Sherry Palmer : What'd you mean? I told you I didn't go there
President David Palmer : I know what you told me: you sat in your car, made some phone calls, and came straight here
Sherry Palmer : Yes, and that's the truth
President David Palmer : And you won't mind if the police check your cell phone and the car you used tonight?
Sherry Palmer : You know, you asked me to take care of a problem and I did. If you want the police to check phone logs, then have them check yours first because you called me tonight remember? I am here because of you
President David Palmer : [Walking up to her] what happened?
Sherry Palmer : I went over to the house just to speak to Julia. Alan interrupted us, there was an argument, and he had a heart attack
President David Palmer : Explain to me if there's an investigation, you're going to have to tell the truth about this
Sherry Palmer : The truth isn't going to save either one of us. All their going to hear is that I was there on your behalf to prevent Alan from meddling with your Presidency and that he died from "natural causes." How do you think that's going to play out in the New York Times? For the next six months?
President David Palmer : What did you do to Alan?
Sherry Palmer : Honestly, nothing. Absolutely nothing
