- George Mason: [Over the phone] how's the search going over there?
- Jack Bauer: Still no new leads on where the bomb is
- George Mason: What about the plane you found the decoy in?
- Jack Bauer: It's clean: I need you to use reverse time satellite try and trace the plane back to its original location. That's where they would've loaded the decoy bomb, see if you can find out who the players are from there
- Jack Bauer: [after he doesn't respond] are you alright? Can you hear me?
- George Mason: Yeah I'm on it, the reverse time satellite
- Jack Bauer: I'm really sorry on everything that's happened to you today. I am, but if you can't think clearly, you need to step aside and let someone else take command. We need someone in command now
- George Mason: There isn't anybody else
- Jack Bauer: What about Tony?
- George Mason: I got it together. I can handle it alright?
- Jack Bauer: Yeah ok
- George Mason: We do have another problem
- Jack Bauer: What?
- George Mason: The six dead commandos you found, turns out there's a seventh, he may have escaped
- Jack Bauer: Well, that would make sense I examined all their gunshots wounds, three of the commandos definitely knew who the shooter was. Their wounds were front entry at close range. The other three shows signs of a struggle which would indicate to me that they had time to react
- George Mason: So, the seventh didn't escape?
- Jack Bauer: Right, he was the shooter. I've got to go. Give me the ID on the seven commandos as soon as you can
- George Mason: I'm working in it
- Bob Warner: [Over the phone, relieved to hear from her] where are you?
- Kate Warner: I'm fine: I'm at an airport
- Bob Warner: The airport? Are you leaving the city?
- Kate Warner: No, not yet. I'm helping one of the agents on an investigation, did they tell you about Reza?
- Bob Warner: Yeah, I can't believe what their saying about Marie. That she's with these terrorists and killed Reza
- Kate Warner: [after Jack asked her to help translate what the terrorist is saying] I'm going to have to call you back
- Bob Warner: Are you ok?
- Kate Warner: Yeah, I'm fine. I love you
- Bob Warner: I love you too sweetheart
- Mike Novick: What exactly did Roger Stanton tell you?
- President David Palmer: Sherry was somehow involved in this
- Mike Novick: The nuclear threat?
- President David Palmer: [Before walking over to Sherry] he didn't elaborate: that's all he said
- Sherry Palmer: They said it was urgent, is it about the bomb? Have they found it?
- President David Palmer: Not yet. Sit down. I just spoke with Roger Stanton, he confesses that his known about the bomb for weeks
- Sherry Palmer: For weeks? Why would he withhold that from you?
- President David Palmer: He said he wanted to wait until the bomb was on US soil before he intercepted it
- Sherry Palmer: So he knows where the bomb is?
- President David Palmer: The men he had tracking it did but their all dead. The bomb's still out there and we don't know where it is
- Sherry Palmer: [Shocked] Oh my God
- President David Palmer: Am I telling you something you already know?
- Sherry Palmer: What?
- President David Palmer: Tell me now. Have you done the unthinkable? Put yourself in league with Roger Stanton?
- Sherry Palmer: [Stands up in protest] that's outrageous. Of course not. What did he say?
- President David Palmer: Sit down
- Sherry Palmer: David...
- President David Palmer: [Interrupts her] sit down. He said that you're involved, that you're working against me
- Sherry Palmer: His lying, I never even met Roger Stanton until this afternoon
- President David Palmer: I know that's not true
- Sherry Palmer: Well, his playing you. Whatever his doing his doing it so you'll believe that...
- President David Palmer: [Interrupts her] just stop it
- President David Palmer: [as she turns around] right now we are tittering on the brink of a war that will lead to the deaths of millions of people. We have to stop this disaster today right now before it begins. If there is something you're not telling me, anything that could help us find this bomb, as President of the United States, I order you, no as "someone" you claim that you love, I'm asking, help me
- Sherry Palmer: I got a phone call in the middle of the night from a friend of mine who's high up in NSA. He told me that Roger Stanton wanted to speak to me first thing in the morning and so we met at a park in Virginia
- President David Palmer: What did he want?
- Sherry Palmer: He wanted to recruit me
- President David Palmer: To do what?
- Sherry Palmer: Wanted to know who was loyal to you and who can be turned, he wanted to know where you were weak
- President David Palmer: And you told him?
- Sherry Palmer: Yes. But I only did it to gain his confidence. I was not aligning myself with him. I was doing it for you
- Sherry Palmer: [while he walks away] I know you don't believe me but just give me thirty minutes, to prove to you that I'm telling the truth, that I did all of this to protect you. Not to hurt you
- George Mason: You must be the new system operator?
- Carrie Turner: [Introducing herself] Carrie Turner, you must be George Mason
- George Mason: [Before covering his mouth to cough] excuse me
- Carrie Turner: You look worse than I expected
- George Mason: Something I can help you with?
- Carrie Turner: No, I'm pretty much set: I've been following everything from Division. I'll be taking over Paula's responsibilities so if there's anything you need me to do, I'll make it happen
- George Mason: Good. The situation report's changed in the last hour so you have to refresh all the computer models
- Carrie Turner: Not a problem, just make sure everyone keeps their hands off my station. Who do I report to directly?
- George Mason: You report to me
- Carrie Turner: No offense but rumor has it that you're not going to be around much longer. So who do I report to?
- George Mason: [Jokingly] when I get someone here I like, I'm not going to be around to enjoy it. Report to Tony Almeida and Michelle Dessler
- Carrie Turner: Did you say Michelle Dessler?
- George Mason: Yes I did, why?
- Carrie Turner: We worked together at District, I was her boss then
- George Mason: [Confused] and your telling me this why?
- Carrie Turner: It'll be fine. It's not important
- Marie Warner: I need your badge
- Kate Warner: Where have you been? Everyone's been looking for you
- Marie Warner: [Pointing a gun at her] you're going to give me your badge. Shut up, stupid idiot. Why did you have to start snooping around?
- Kate Warner: What's going on?
- Marie Warner: You've always treated me like I was a helpless injured animal: like I couldn't get by without you looking over me
- Kate Warner: What happened to you?
- Marie Warner: I opened my eyes. That's what happened to me. I was pathetic, just like you, until I met Syed. Until I saw the lies and the hypocrisy of my life. This country, of people like dad who helped the government. He works for the CIA
- Kate Warner: I know he does. So what?
- Marie Warner: So what? Do you have any idea what kind of suffering they cause around the world?
- Kate Warner: Oh, please, what're you six years old? You think dad is the enemy now? I can't believe how ungrateful you are
- Marie Warner: I should be grateful?
- Kate Warner: Yeah. Absolutely, dad and I turned our lives upside down for you after mom died. Is this what we did it for? So you can be brainwashed by some lunatic? Wake up, you're about to be the biggest murderer in the history of this country
- Marie Warner: [after hitting her] give me your badge
- Kate Warner: No
- Marie Warner: [while putting a silencer on her gun] fine
- Kate Warner: Listen to me, there's a nuclear bomb in the city. No matter what you believe, you don't want all those innocent people to die
- Marie Warner: Give me your badge
- Kate Warner: No. I don't believe you'd shoot me
- Marie Warner: I will because this is more important than your life, or my life
- Jack Bauer: Where is the bomb? The real bomb
- Marie Warner: Lying bastard: I'm not telling you anything
- Jack Bauer: [Kneeling next to her] do you know why the pain is so severe? The bullet is still in your arm, right up against the bone here. Tell me where the bomb is, I'll give you something for the pain, and we'll treat your arm. Please just talk to me. Tell me where the bomb is
- Marie Warner: [shouts] No!
- Jack Bauer: I know you think what your doing is going to further your cause. Deep down, I don't think you want to go through with it. I don't think you can justify killing millions of innocent civilians
- Marie Warner: Nobody's innocent in this country. I'm not afraid to die
- Jack Bauer: I don't believe you. I've seen people willing to die. I've looked them straight in the eyes just like I am you right now. You're not one of them. I want to give you something for the pain but you've got to help me first, please just tell me where the bomb is
- Tony Almeida: [while looking at his profile on a computer screen] so they think this is our man? The seventh commando?
- Michelle Dessler: Yeah: Captain Jonathan Wallace. Lead a sniper unit in the Gulf War and an assassination detail in Malaysia
- Tony Almeida: You get this to Jack yet?
- Michelle Dessler: I'm on it right now
- Michelle Dessler: [Before he walks away] I stored it in the shared volume so everyone can see it
- Carrie Turner: [Walking up to her work station] hello Michelle
- Michelle Dessler: What're you doing here?
- Michelle Dessler: Division sent me here to replace Paula
- Michelle Dessler: Right, do you need any help getting into the locked volumes on the network?
- Carrie Turner: No, actually I'm all up and running, you look great by the way
- Michelle Dessler: Stop it
- Carrie Turner: Stop what?
- Michelle Dessler: You're not my boss today alright? And technically you work for me
- Carrie Turner: Fine, give me an order
- Michelle Dessler: There's a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles, we've been put in charge of finding it so why don't you start by analyzing these files
- Carrie Turner: Fine
- George Mason: You got a second?
- Tony Almeida: Sure: what is it?
- George Mason: I think it's time I step down, I'm not feeling so hot here
- Tony Almeida: Is there anything I can do?
- George Mason: Actually yeah. Tomorrow when this is all over, say goodbye to everybody for me. Let them know it was an honor working with them, let them know I think a great job they all did
- Tony Almeida: Sure
- George Mason: This morning when I told you I couldn't wait to get out of here, I don't feel that way anymore
- George Mason: [Handing the access card] here you go
- Tony Almeida: What's this?
- George Mason: Access codes to CTU and Division
- Tony Almeida: I can't take this. Only CTU Directors have that kind of access
- George Mason: You're the new CTU Director
- Tony Almeida: You can't promote me, Chapelle is the only one who can do that
- George Mason: I just talked to Chappelle. You're the new guy
- Tony Almeida: Listen, I'm sorry, I...
- George Mason: [Interrupts him] hey, good luck
- Tony Almeida: Yeah
- Tony Almeida: [Addressing CTU personnel] in case you haven't heard: George Mason was exposed to a lethal dose of plutonium this morning. I'm afraid he doesn't have much time. He just left the office and won't be coming back which means I'll be in charge until further notice. Now on a normal day, we'd be mourning George, just like Ivers, Clark, Paula, and the rest of our co-workers that were killed here today. Unfortunately we're going to have to hold our thoughts for them until we can get through this crisis. So let's get back to work
- Jack Bauer: I need your help
- Kate Warner: Help? How?
- Jack Bauer: You're her sister: I need you to try to bring her back to some kind of reality. You know her like that. I don't
- Kate Warner: I thought I did. She's a different person than the Marie that I knew this morning
- Jack Bauer: No, she's the same girl you've grown up with your whole life. Right now she's just regurgitating everything that Syed Ali taught her. I need you to remind her of the things she used to love. You can do this, you can get to her
- Kate Warner: Alright
- Kate Warner: Hey Marie
- Marie Warner: Hey Kate: go away I don't need you
- Kate Warner: Why won't you help us?
- Marie Warner: I am going to help you. I'm going to help you stop being part of the problem
- Kate Warner: So it's ok to you that today dad and I die?
- Marie Warner: I killed Reza, and I loved him. Why would I care about you and dad?
- Kate Warner: Because we care about you. Because we love you. Why are you doing this? You can save everyone. you can stop this terrible thing from happening
- Marie Warner: I don't want to. I can't
- Kate Warner: I'm begging you
- Jack Bauer: That's the Demerol wearing off: tell me where the bomb is and I'll get you more. Please just tell me where the bomb is and I can make the pain go away
- Marie Warner: [to Jack, referring to Marie's bullet wound] give her something for the pain
- Jack Bauer: No, just tell me where the bomb is. Please
- Marie Warner: [to Kate] make him stop
- Kate Warner: [to Marie] no you make him stop
- Jack Bauer: The pain is only going to get worse. It's alright. Just tell me where the bomb is
- Marie Warner: In a suitcase
- Jack Bauer: Where's the suitcase?
- Marie Warner: In a van
- Jack Bauer: What van? Where is the van headed?
- Marie Warner: Downtown
- Jack Bauer: Where downtown?
- Marie Warner: At the ARCO Towers
- Jack Bauer: What kind of van was it? What make?
- Marie Warner: Green, I don't know what make
- Jack Bauer: When is the bomb set to go off?
- Marie Warner: Three hours
- Jack Bauer: How do you know?
- Marie Warner: I saw the timer
- Jack Bauer: Describe it
- Marie Warner: What?
- Jack Bauer: The timer. Describe it
- Marie Warner: I don't know
- Jack Bauer: You're lying to me. A bomb that size wouldn't have a visual timer
- Marie Warner: I'm not lying. It's at the ARCO Towers. Send them all down there now
- Jack Bauer: Why now? You told me I had three hours right? Do I have three hours?
- Marie Warner: [Raises her voice] I'm not lying
- Jack Bauer: Why do you want me and my team to leave here so fast? The bomb's still here isn't?
- Marie Warner: [Shakes her head] no
- Jack Bauer: Yes it is
- Jack Bauer: [Over the radio] teams A and B, I want you to initiate a grid search on every out building on the airport. Starting on the north end heading south, the bomb is on site. I repeat the bomb is on site
- Mike Novick: Mr. President: the call is ready
- President David Palmer: Steve Hillenburg at Langley?
- Mike Novick: Yes CIA operative. His on an isolated feed, nobody else knows about this but the three of you. Sherry's waiting
- President David Palmer: Good
- President David Palmer: [after turning on the video conference, with Sherry sitting next to David] hello Steve
- Steve Hillenburg: Mr. President
- President David Palmer: What's your involvement in this?
- Steve Hillenburg: I got a call from Sherry about four months ago. She told me Roger Stanton was trying to recruit her in an effort to undermine your Presidency. She wanted an independent source to confirm that she was only going along with this to help you
- President David Palmer: So, you've been building a case against Roger Stanton for the last four months without my knowledge?
- Steve Hillenburg: Plausible deniability Sir. What we were doing was illegal but we felt it was necessary, it could've backfired and landed both Sherry and I in prison. We didn't want this to touch you if this happened
- President David Palmer: Ok, let's say I accept that? What proof do you have that exonerates Sherry besides your word?
- Steve Hillenburg: I have photographs, taped conversations, debriefs, files filled with the work Sherry did
- President David Palmer: These meetings that Roger and Sherry had, where'd they take place?
- Steve Hillenburg: [Implying she should respond] Sherry?
- Sherry Palmer: [while standing up] for the first month at a hotel in Hilton Head. I didn't sleep with him
- President David Palmer: I didn't ask
- President David Palmer: [Before hanging up] thank you Steve, I'll contact you if I need anything else
- Sherry Palmer: You know, I don't care what you think of me right now. The important thing is that you realize I never and I mean never was part of Stanton's conspiracy
- President David Palmer: You know what? You might be telling me the truth, then again you might not. Right now I don't have the time or energy to figure out if I can trust you
- Sherry Palmer: [Sitting down] you have to trust me. Your Presidency is in jeopardy and so is this country. Let me help you
- President David Palmer: No, you'll leave now
- Sherry Palmer: [Holds his hand] you need me
- President David Palmer: [Removes her hand] if you resist in any way, I'll have no choice but to place you under arrest
