Sex & Nudity

  • Near the end, a female character kicks a door in which her foot is so high up, that you can see under her skirt and her panties.
  • A young boy is raped. It is not graphic, but it is quite clear on what is happening.
  • A character's breasts are briefly seen early on.
  • A character plans to rape another character.
  • In the second episode, a villain makes a couple of crude sexual references.
  • There are frequent references to erections that are made during combat.

Violence & Gore

  • One of the main characters, Seras Victoria, wields in the beginning. The "Harkonnen", a 120lb sniper made especially for her that fires 30mm rounds, and then dual-wields the Harkonnen MK II, and a belt-fed automatic version of the original. The results of using both guns are bloody.
  • This is without a doubt one of the most violent anime of all time, and it's not for the faint of heart.
  • Massive amounts of extreme bloodshed and graphic gore in every episode. However, the violence becomes much stronger and more frequent as it goes on.
  • Examples: Several soldiers and civilians are bitten, blown up, shot to death, torn apart by gunfire and other means, burned alive, disintegrated, staked, sliced up by knives and swords and bayonets with extremely large amounts of blood.
  • The Millennium's attack on London can be very disturbing, since it involves vampire Nazis bombing the city, burning many innocent people alive. The Nazis also gun down several people and bite others, turning them into ghouls (zombie-like creatures that mindlessly eat and rip apart other people), and slaughter large numbers of people, with a TON of blood indeed.
  • To end a very bloody battle, a character grabs another character by the head and grates it against a wall while running full speed down a corridor until the character's head is just a shred of flesh with an eyeball. A massive bloody smear is left behind, and in another episode, in a somewhat similar scene, the protagonist devours a man alive, with incredibly extreme amounts of blood and gore being shed in the process.

Profanity

  • 40+ F-words, 31 S-words, 1 use of the c-word, and in addition to "hell", "damn", "bastard", "bitch", and other swear words.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Many characters smoke, and alcohol is depicted in a few instances.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The violence in the anime is extremely graphic, intense, and disturbing.
  • The entire series is full of graphic violence, disturbing imagery, situations, and intense themes. Also, the atmosphere is very dark and unpleasant.
  • The Major, who is the villain, is a complete psychopath. The scenes involving him are unpleasant, to say the least.
  • The fact that hundreds of innocent people are being slaughtered by Nazis who are invading London simply because they enjoy it may disturb and upset some.
  • The protagonist Alucard could be frightening to some viewers.

  • In a flashback, a dead woman is shown being raped in front of her young daughter who was shot and forced to watch. Her breasts are briefly seen and thrusting is shown as well.

Violence & Gore

  • During a flashback, a young child is hiding in a closet during a home invasion. However, when she hears her parents being murdered, she runs out of the closet and stabs a man in the eye with a fork. The man's partner shoots her in the stomach and the child, while dying, is forced to watch while one of the home invaders rapes her dead mother (see Sex & Nudity).
