- In Prague, the teenager Alena is spending vacation with her sister, the Assistant History Professor Kristina Konecna, while their archaeologist parents are traveling. They visit an antique shop and Kristina sees the ancient book Via Lucis. Her interest calls the attention of the ambitious Antiquarian Schwarz that tells that the book is not for sale. Kristina explains to Alena that the book belonged to Rabbi Loew and has clues of the treasure hidden by the Emperor Rudolf II four centuries ago. Alena shows the notes she stole from the book and Kristina tries to decipher them. But she needs to research pages of the Via Lucis and she decides to go to the shop early in the morning. When she arrives, she finds Schwarz dead on the floor. She calls the police, but neither Lieutenant Miroslav nor the specialist Knapp believe the book is the original one and has been stolen. Soon the American treasure hunter Aaron Cohen contacts Kristina while his grandson David befriends Alena and the boy Ondra, and along their investigation, they stumble upon the mysterious girl Veronika and Professor Martin Simko and they team-up.
