I've written a lot about Ar Murugadoss' (Ghajini) upcoming spectacle, 7aam Arivu, but until now there's been very little video evidence, apart from some music videos. Today, however, the production house, Red Giant Movies, finally released the first Tamil language trailer for the film, and it is a doozy! The actual plot details of the film are still a bit hazy, but we know a few things. The film opens with a 20 minute sequence set in the 5th century with Bodhidharma traveling to China to spread Buddhism and, according to legend, the martial arts. Suriya, the star of the film, plays Bodhidharma as well as at least one other character in the film, possibly two. There is time travel, kung fu, martial arts, circus action,...

With Rakht Charitra, Ram Gopal Varma has not just won the hearts of many of his fans and followers all over again, he has also found new admirers from within the film fraternity. One such new entrant is Tamil superstar Suriya who has worked with Ramu for the first time in the Rakht Charitra, part two of which releases on 19th November."Ramu's clarity around the subject and how he wanted to execute it amazed me," says Suriya who is seeing his big Bollywood debut with Rakht Charitra, "All through these 30 days of shooting that I did with Ramu, I never saw him loose his cool even once. He actually works without any kind of emotion. The way he sets up the scene, the shot transition, the way camera focus changes, the zoom ins, lights and all - everything is so much well worked out in his mind itself.

Ar Murugadoss, the Ghajini director, has signed on Shruti for a film opposite Suriya, who played the lead role in the Tamil version of Ghajini. She will also be doing a Telugu film. And though people assume that her father’s status in the South is behind her getting all these offers, some of the people close to the actress would like to believe otherwise. Salman Khan painted two huge portraits of Aamir Khan which were unveiled in front of the media by Ghajini starlet Asin in a South Mumbai mmultiplex. These two paintings are Salman’s interpretations of the character Aamir plays in his Ghajini — one represents a stately figure, the other symbolizes angst. This is not the first time that Salman has painted his fellow actors, but this is the first that he has painted an actor’s character connected to a film. It took him around two weeks to finish the paintings.
Incidentally, Asin, who’s making her Bollywood debut with Aamir, will next.
