Life after Life
Very penetrating and informative film about what happens to us when we ceased to exist on this earthly plain when we pass away and die. Something that the most renowned and respected philosophers scientists and men of religion have been pondering since the dawn of human conciseness.
It wasn't until the early 1970's with the advancement of medical science that it has become clear to many scientists and medical men that there may very well be some kind of survival after death! That's in the many cases that have emerges where men and women who are declared medically dead suddenly coming back to life again! What's even more astounding is the stories that they recall when they were clinically dead! All of them are almost identical to each other with the persons in many cases having no knowledge of the the life after death experience that's commonly known as a NDE or near death experience!
The most interesting case about life after death in the film "The Day I Died" is that of singer and music writer Pam Reynolds. Pam having been diagnosed with a massive aneurysm on the base of her brain steam was given a very delicate and dangerous operation preformed by Phoenix neurosurgeon Robert Spetzler. Literately put to clinical death for over an hour in order for the operation to be successful Pam after recovering could not only remember what happened to her, with her brain being put on ice and flat-lined, but also remembered things that went on in the operating room that she, not knowing anything at all about the operation, could have possibly known! Unless she was there conscious and alive watching it! It's as if Pam was somehow out of her body, or had an OBE or out of body experience, at the time the operation was preformed!
One of the most common things that happens to people who have NDE is that when they "come back" from the dead their whole concept of life and what life is all about dramatically changes! They not only stop fearing death but become very socially minded in helping their fellow man as well as, by becoming vegetarians, living creatures! This is the case of former Financial World Magazine CEO man of the year Gordon Allen.
Gordon died on the operating table after suffering an attack of double pneumonia on his way to work. Being used to the dog eat dog world of high finance and loving it Gordon suddenly, after coming back from the dead, threw it and the millions that go with it all away to become a guidance consular for the most downtrodden and neediest among us! In Gordon's own words it was that what turned his "life" around in what he was what he was shown during his brush with death. It showed to him that life, no matter how bad it could be, is in fact worth living not to achieve fame and fortune as well as enormous wealth but to help, in whatever talents one has, those less fortunate then ourselves. The rewards in doing that will bring you the kinds of treasures, in helping your fellow man, that just can't be measured in dollars and cents as well as gold diamonds stock and real-estate holdings!
P.S The film "The Day I Died" is based on the works of Doctor's Raynond Moody and Elisabeth Kubler-Ross who's extensive work on the subject, life after death, over the last thirty five or so years have become well known to millions of people who read their books. Both those pioneers in the near death and out of body experience have opened the eyes of many who had no idea that this century, if not millennium, old phenomenon ever existed.
