Turkey Shoot: Blood and Thunder Memories (2003)
*** (out of 4)
TURKEY SHOOT cast members Michael Craig, Roger Ward and Lynda Stoner are interviewed about the making of the 1982 cult film and it's pretty clear that all three don't have many good things to say. We start off learning that the film ran into major production issues, which caused eight weeks of shooting to be cut down to five and this meant that the first fifteen pages of the screenplay had to be thrown out. From here we learn about various other parts of the production including the release of the film, which to say the least didn't get too many positive reviews. We also hear stories about various cast members including Steve Railsback and Olivia Hussey. Railsback was apparently a method actor and there's a great story about the torture chamber in the film that the actor demanding on doing. Hussey, on the other hand, clearly had a horrible time and we hear a few reasons why but it's a shame they couldn't interview her and get some of these stories from her. Overall this featurette is actually a lot more entertaining than the actual film in question. All three actors tell some very good stories and especially Stoner who is obviously embarrassed by the picture.
