Trivia:
In the original script, the poster on Billy's bedroom wall during the babysitter scene was of a different band. However, when the crew realized how long of a tongue actress Rachel Nichols (who played the babysitter) had, they decided to change it to a poster of the rock band Kiss, because of band member Gene Simmons' very long tongue. more

Continuity: At one point the Lutzes are in the kitchen and the refrigerator magnets read "Home Sweet Home". In a rage George knocks the letters down. In the next shot, the letters spelling out "Home" are visible in their original position. more

I was not a huge fan of the original but Reynolds was simply awesome. Not only was the movie scary and filled with great special effects, but the humor was unexpected. Even the babysitter was a nice added touch. Although most of the acting was sub par, Reynolds made the movie and it is definitely worth seeing on the big screen. Much better than the original. Have not jumped from my seat in a movie in a long time...this one makes you cringe. If you are a fan of horror films, this is one that needs to be seen in the theater. It increases the effect and chill of the house.
An unexpected hit.
