As the story begins, we catch sight of what appear to be two prostitutes working on a street in Berlin. The police arrives, asks for papers, and they release them. As we came closer we noticed that one of them is a man, who we get to know is Francesco, but is known as Francesca and loves to wear a grotesque makeup. The other prostitute is Giada, who, like her friend, is an Italian, trying to eke out a living in the German metropolis.

The lives of Francesca and Giada will intermix with that of Andreas, a wealthy man, who might have been involved in the East German infamous Stasi, the repressive East German secret police. Andreas develops an attraction for Francesca, who at first feels flattered, but then realizes the relationship is going nowhere. Into this mixture a woman enters the picture. She is Suzanne, a German woman who was imprisoned by the Stasi and is looking for the people that sent her to jail. Everything seems to point in the direction of Andreas, who probably knows more than he admits. Andreas, Francesca and Suzanne's fate will come together in mysterious ways.

This Italian film is a bit confusing, perhaps because of the translation, in the version we saw. The scenario written by director Pasquale Marrazzo and Lorenzo Loris doesn't clarify most of the doubts one has about the link of Suzanne in the story. Giovanni Brignola and Elizabetta D'Arco appear to be non-professional actors. Gabrielle Scharnitzky and Rainer Winkelvoss are betrayed by a script that is obscure, to say the least.
