After leaving the Dceu behind, Zack Snyder has been quite busy with his Rebel Moon franchise which already has two films to its name. The films revolve around a fictional galaxy ruled by something called the Motherworld. Rebel Moon sees Sofia Boutella in the lead role as she does a splendid job of bringing Korra to life. From the cast to the crew, Zack Snyder worked with brilliant people who were on the top of their game.
Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scargiver
However, it seems like the filmmaker felt that there was still a piece missing from the puzzle. As it turns out, the missing jigsaw piece needed to complete the picture is none other than Patrick Tatopoulos, the Production Designer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Now, Zack Snyder is hoping his old friend would help him out on the third Rebel Moon film.

The Willennium may have started nearly a quarter of a century ago, but Will Smith has been dominating on screen since the early 1990s. The Academy Award-winning star has been a blockbuster juggernaut with a commanding presence on screen, dabbling in anything and everything. Serious fare like "Concussion," edgy superhero stories like "Hancock" and "Suicide Squad," action-packed dramas like "Enemy of the State," sci-fi thrillers like "I, Robot," musicals like "Aladdin," and plenty of goofy nonsense like "Shark Tale" and "Wild Wild West" have all let Big Willy Style flex his acting muscles and show that he truly is a jack of all trades. From his humble beginnings in the ensemble piece "Where the Day Takes You" to the recently announced "Bad Boys: Ride or Die," Smith is one of Hollywood's most prolific and profitable performers. And fortunately, he's also one of the best. It's time to get jiggy wit'...

Besides the skillfully adapted screenplay, the I, Robot cast played a huge role in the movie’s success. Although several Isaac Asimov fans criticized the movie when it was released, I, Robot became one of the century’s best films on Artificial Intelligence and robotics. Jeff Vintar, who worked on the earlier screenplay and story, based it on Isaac Asimov’s short-story collection. Set in 2035, I, Robot showed a more relatable and functional future use of robots and AI. Detective Del Spooner is called to investigate the alleged suicide of Alfred Lanning, co-founder of U.S. Robotics. With a natural distrust and disgust

Denzel Washington is one of the most distinguished actors in Hollywood at present. In a career that has spanned over four decades, Washington has become synonymous with the film industry itself.
Not only has he been a part of several memorable films, but he has also set the benchmark for acting, and in the process, has won numerous accolades and awards. However, to get to where he is in his career now, he has had to make some difficult choices. It worked out in the end for The Book of Eli star and other actors who benefited from Washington giving up a few roles.

Oscar Snubs: 10 Actors Denied Their Worthy Oscar Best Actor and Best Actress Awards (In No Specific Order) Ethan Hawke
With four nominations and a league of amazing films under his belt, it is both a shame and a surprise that we haven’t seen an oscar in Ethan Hawke’s hands. Wearing many hats, Hawke is known for directing and writing alongside his acting career. My first introduction to Ethan Hawke was Reality Bites, also starring the intriguing Winona Ryder and Ben Stiller.
Quite a poignant film for these trying times, as the theme revolves around young adults trying to forge their path in a world where entry-level jobs are unpromising--even with a degree it seems bleak to find a respectable career coming out of college. This has been a tremendous year for animation -- one that saw streaming produce some stone-cold masterpieces, some exquisite international collaborations, one of the greatest anime seasons of all time, the end to a cultural phenomenon, and also plenty of fresh discoveries and original stories. After the fall 2022 season saw an astonishing number of certified bangers (including many of that year's best shows), 2023 wasn't too far behind. It was hard to pick just five shows from this season, as there was something for every type of fan. In the end, however, there were five shows that simply stood above the rest.

Few existential threats in Hollywood are as universally feared (and loathed) as artificial intelligence. In the wake of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike resolutions — finally coming to an end after an uncertain year that put thousands out of work and had just as many questioning the future of the entertainment industry altogether — the threat of robots taking over some creative jobs still looms large.
Plenty of organizations have received protections against A.I. supplanting their roles in productions, including actors and writers (although many still worry negotiations for performers didn’t go far enough). But the quickly evolving technology is changing how we see what’s possible across industries, and the ever-closer future can make it hard to keep up with regulating how machine learning can be used to shape and change both union and non-union arts jobs.

Isaac Asimov is considered one of the biggest science fiction minds of the 20th century, along with authors like Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke. He wrote hundreds of books, including his highly influential "Robot" and "Foundation" series. These shaped many of the sci-fi stories of today, establishing familiar tropes like the galactic empire, and robots being programmed to be unable to harm humans.
Books like "Dune" and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" owe a lot to Asimov, as do movies like "Star Wars." And yet, Asimov wasn't exactly the biggest sci-fi fan out there, at least not in TV and film. In an interview with the L.A. Times in 1988, Asimov simply described the "Star Trek" films, "Planet of the Apes" and "Back to the Future" as "decent." Asimov even wrote an essay for TV Guide that criticized "Star Trek" and its take on science -- though he...

It’s hard to imagine in our era of insatiable appetites for the familiar, but once upon a time a title as IP-driven as “Star Wars” was an original movie without countless sequels, prequels and sovereign derivatives to its name. There used to be an era when “Jurassic Park” hadn’t yet evolved into an elephantine universe, and standalone movies not based on existing films, characters and toys were in regular and prominent rotation in theaters.
On those terms alone, it feels like a miracle that “The Creator” exists today, helmed by none other than Gareth Edwards who directed one of those aforementioned “Star Wars” offshoots in 2016 with “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and a fresh take on the legendary kaiju with his brawny “Godzilla” (2014).

"The Creator" will mark Gareth Edwards' hopefully-triumphant return to filmmaking after he kind of swore off big-budget sci-fi following the difficult shoot of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." (Has anyone ever come out of making a "Star Wars" movie mentally and emotionally unscathed?) Edwards' new film seems to be an ambitious sci-fi tale with a big scope despite a relatively modest budget (certainly compared to a Star War). The film is also unfortunately rather timely, as it tells the story of a world at war with artificial intelligence threatening to extinguish humanity. It's a timeliness Edwards did not anticipate or predict, but it's certainly the aspect of the film that makes it most intriguing in 2023.
Despite there being rather little commonality between "The Creator" and "Star Wars," other than Edwards' name, there's a theme that connects them, at least in that "The Creator" promises to tackle a subject "Star...

Movies and TV shows centered on science fiction always toy with the possibility of humanity evolving or being wiped out by unstoppable forces, ranging from catastrophic weather events to extraterrestrial beings. A recurring theme in sci-fi movies and shows is AI, or artificial intelligence, which often focuses on robotic machines with human-like intelligence and emotive capabilities. While many popular works highlight the downfall of humanity due to AI, others explore a different possibility that allows humans and artificially intelligent beings to coexist.
Though it seems to have only grown in popularity in recent years, artificial intelligence in film and TV has been around for decades. Peacock's recently released sci-fi comedy-drama series "Mrs. Davis" follows a nun named Sister Simone (Betty Gilpin), who embarks on a global journey to destroy an evil AI named Mrs. Davis. S1M0NE.Recently my MacBook showed signs of malfunction that I feared were fatal. I rushed to the Apple Store, where I was promptly introduced to Isaac, Apple's in-store virtual assistant—that is, a handheld device—to sign off on what was apparently a very standard procedure. Fifteen minutes and three Geniuses later, I was informed that numerous attempts had been made to restore my MacBook to its factory settings, all of which had inexplicably failed. “It just didn’t want to die,” said one of the Geniuses, directing me toward the newer models available for purchase. “It must have loved being yours.” I walked home in a state of devastation—and surprise at my devastation, too. At my desk I unboxed the machine, which I knew was in many ways identical to my former MacBook but for now felt uncanny. Powering up the screen, I was reminded...

When you think of romantic comedies, odds are you are not picturing films like I Robot or The Terminator. That is because science fiction tales about androids and artificial intelligence are typically fodder for terrifying thrillers and action movies. Nobody sets out to make a movie that will fail, be it a tiny independent production or the biggest of big blockbusters from a major studio. On the flip side, occasionally arrogance of a sort sets in and there is an element of presumed success with a film, and those projects -- more often than not -- feel doomed to fail. Such was the case with Lionsgate's 2016 big-budget fantasy play "Gods of Egypt," which bombed spectacularly upon its initial release. Yet, lofty ambitions existed as this was eyed as just the first entry in a brand new franchise. Before it all went to hell, that is.
The film, directed by Alex Proyas, cost a whopping $140 million to produce before marketing, putting it firmly in gigantic blockbuster territory. But it made a paltry $31 million in total at the domestic box office and topped out at $150 million worldwide. Per Variety, Lionsgate...

Artificial Intelligence is not a new concept, the movies have always shown us a world where robots and technology would run our lives and eventually take over the world. It kind of makes sense considering these movies were created decades ago. AI has proven to be an asset in our lives in the health sector and the financial benefits are enormous. The use of AI has not been confined to those industries; it has entered the classroom, video games, movies, and even gambling, in particular online gambling.
What is AI?
A simple definition of artificial intelligence is the use of computer science to make intelligent computers act in a human-like way. It’s when computers and machinery display human characteristics and responses to problem-solving. According to scientist John McCarthy, AI is “the science and engineering of making intelligent machines.”

Surprising no one, Avatar: The Way of Water collected the Oscar in visual effects for its jaw-dropping work that helped to propel the movie to more than $2.2 billion at the box office, making it the third highest grossing movie of all time.
In doing so, Weta FX’s production senior VFX supervisor Joe Letteri collected his fifth competitive award in the category at the 2023 Oscars. He now joins Ken Ralston (Forrest Gump) in holding five competitive Oscars apiece in the category. Both trail Denis Murren (Jurassic Park), who holds the category record of eight competitive Academy Awards.
With the win for The Way of Water, visual effects supervisor Richard Baneham accepted his second VFX Oscar, having previously won the trophy for the original Avatar. Weta VFX supervisor Eric Saindon and senior animation supervisor Daniel Barrett each won their first Oscar on Sunday.

Yeon Sang-ho may have not been able to replicate the grand success of his live-action debut “Train to Busan” yet, but you have to hand it to the writer-director for never shying away from trying new challenges and newer genres. After showing much promise in his much acclaimed animated features “King of Pigs” and “The Fake”, he ventured into live-action territory with “Train to Busan”, following that up with with the superhero entry “Psychokinesis” before going back to the world of zombies with “Peninsula”, which may not have lived up to the hype of the original (or even its animated prequel “Seoul Station”), yet ended up being the highest-grossing Korean release in the pandemic inflicted 2020. Yeon would then join hands with Netflix to bring his webtoon “Hellbound” to an Ott series before re-teaming with the streaming giant for his first venture into full-blown sci-fi with “Jung_E”.

It feels just like last month we were complimenting Hulu on its true crime offerings. Well, with its list of new releases for February 2023, Hulu is staying in the true crime lane. Suppose that’ll happen when you push back the release date of a series or two.
February sees the arrival of three notable true crime series on Hulu. Taiwan Crime Stories premieres on Feb. 1 and presents four true tales from Taiwan’s criminal “dark underbelly.” That will be followed by ABC News Studios’ Killing County on Feb. 3. That three-episode series ponders the question “what happens when police kill?” The most interesting true crime offering premieres on Feb. 9. That’s when Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence College shares its four-episode saga of Larry Ray and the young college students he victimized.

February is the shortest month of the year but Prime Video is paying that no mind with its jam-packed list of new releases for February 2023.
This really is an uncommonly stuffed month on the Amazon streamer and it all starts with a handful of Amazon Originals. Amazon’s original offerings kick off with the release of Dave Franco-directed romcom Somebody I Used to Know on Feb. 10. That is followed by Carnival Row season 2 – a gritty fantasy crime drama is set in a world of steampunky fairies. The show stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevigne and this batch of episodes will be its swan song. Meanwhile The Consultant on Feb. 24 is a dark comedy workplace thriller starring Christoph Waltz.
The biggest hits this month, however, might just be some recent cinema faves. If February is for lovers, Amazon didn’t get the memo as there are quite a few horror movies of note here.

February can be a weird month. It’s too late to wish anyone “Happy New Year,” late enough to abandon resolutions, and too early to leave the house if you want to avoid getting caught in nasty weather (even in Los Angeles).
This month also marks the third and final season of Hulu’s widely acclaimed “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” which charts the rise of the Wu-Tang clan over time. Season 3 catches up with the Wu-Tang members after their first album, facing divergent paths in the years that follow. As with any group navigating the challenging lure of fame and money, it’s a treacherous road — but an indelible journey. “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” Season 3 premieres February 15 on Hulu.
Here’s everything coming to Hulu in February 2023.

HBO Max may (hopefully) be done randomly pulling original series from the service, but there are still a number of TV shows and films due to leave HBO Max in January as part of the regularly scheduled shuffling.
Multiple seasons of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” will leave HBO Max on Jan. 3, so get those final binge-watches in Asap. And the beloved WB series “Everwood” is due to depart on Jan. 21 if you feel like seeing what young Chris Pratt was up to in the early 2000s.
In terms of movies leaving HBO Max, there are quite a lot. “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” turns into a ghost on Jan. 20, while Jon M. Chu’s delightful musical “In the Heights” leaves on Jan. 27.
Noteworthy films leaving HBO Max on Jan. 31 include the first three “John Wick” movies, the first three “Jurassic Park” films, the first two installments in the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise,...

Producer Michel Shane has unveiled his latest project titled “21 Miles in Malibu,” a feature documentary about the frequent fatalities on Pacific Coast Highway (Pch).
The documentary was inspired by the 2010 murder of Shane’s 13-year-old daughter Emily, who was mowed down by a suicidal driver while walking along Pch on her way home from a friend’s house.
In the doc, Shane, whose EP credits include “I, Robot” and “Catch Me if You Can,” exposes how the 21-mile road that runs alongside the sparkling coast of California is “one of the most deadly stretches of asphalt on Earth.”
The film explores the history of Malibu and Pch and looks at why stricter regulations have been suggested countless times but never implemented.
Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Nic Davis (“Enormous: The Gorge Story”) directs.
Distribution rights to the doc are in negotiation and the film has also been submitted at festivals worldwide.

(Welcome to Year of the Vampire, a series examining the greatest, strangest, and sometimes overlooked vampire movies of all time in honor of "Nosferatu," which turns 100 this year.)
Vampire movies have been a part of cinema for a long, long time. Sure, a great many of those movies center on your classic "Dracula in a cape," and at times, that can be great. But vampire flicks that go a little bit outside the box have always been a little bit more my speed.
Such is the case with "Daybreakers," an ambitious, kind of crazy mid-size movie that has largely slipped through the cracks in the years since its release. I'm here to propose that we absolutely should not let it slip away entirely.
Directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, aka the Spierig brothers, the film takes place a decade after a plague turns most of the world's population into vampires.

Artificial Intelligence and its uses may be more popular today, but Hollywood has been pushing the narratives from as far back as the 1950s. One such movie was 1951 The Day The Earth Stood Still, with a robot character named Gort. Artificial Intelligence movies have always been a hit, especially because of the idea that robots may one day save or destroy the world — depending which side of the argument you favor. Besides R2-D2 of Star Wars fame and RoboCop’s Murphy, few other Artificial Intelligence examples have stayed in our minds like I, Robot‘s Viki and Sonny. However, I,

Four-time Emmy winner Obaid-Chinoy most recently helmed Episodes 4 and 5 of Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel.” The adaptation of Marcus Sakey’s novel is produced by Paramount Pictures and has been dubbed a “passion project” for Oscar winner Smith and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, who collaborated on “I, Robot,” “I Am Legend,” and “Hancock.”
The book centers on Nick Cooper, a federal agent who works for the Department of Analysis and Response and is tasked with tracking down the 1 percent of non-neurotypical people deemed “abnorms,” or “Brilliants,” who are born with special powers. For a long stretch that began in the '90s and carried over into the 2000s, Will Smith was the king of the summer blockbuster: "Independence Day," "I, Robot," "Hancock," just to name a few. According to Will Smith himself, this was no coincidence. "I am a serious summer movie fan, and I know the type of movie that needs to be in July," Smith said in 2004. "I have a sense of what audiences want to see."
One of the movies included in Smith's summer catalog is 1997's sci-fi action-comedy "Men in Black." Smith and Tommy Lee Jones work as secret agents who police...

Robots are taking over. But that might be a good thing, as robots are now helping out with everyday chores.
One of the most popular ways to upgrade your life with robotic aid is a robot vacuum. These devices roam around your home, cleaning up dirt, debris, pet hair and even stains. The implications of a robot maid are pretty straightforward: you can enjoy clean floors without lifting a finger.

Will Smith had experienced so much box office success heading into December 2007 that something strange happened when his post-apocalyptic zombie thriller “I Am Legend” opened to $77 million: He wasn’t happy. The future is here and it’s out of control in the dazzling sci-fi thriller Override starring Luke Goss – released 6th September on DVD and Digital. To celebrate the new release, we are giving away three DVDs!
The legendary Luke Goss (Hellboy 2) stars alongside Superman himself Dean Cain, and Jess Impiazzi in Override, a terrifically entertaining, smartly plotted mix of Ex Machina and I, Robot, about a futuristic reality show using an alluring female android that goes badly wrong.
Stylishly filmed, with sleek effects and a pulsing soundtrack, and a terrific performance from Impiazzi as a seriously sultry ‘perfect wife’ – the ‘Reality Interface Android’ (R.I.A) who goes off the rails, the film wouldn’t look out of place as a slick and sexy feature-length Black Mirror episode.
As well as pop-idol-turned-prolific-action-star Goss, the film also features much-loved 80s pop star Sinitta and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt; as well Charlie Clapham,...
