- Christoffer (Ulrich Thomsen) used to work with his father in a family-owned steel company but left when the occupation took a toll on his health and is now happily married to Maria (Lisa Werlinder) a promising stage actress. Christoffer owns a successful restaurant and is in the process of opening a new establishment when he receives word that his father has hung himself. When Christoffer returns home he discovers that the family steel business is on the verge of collapse and that a new leader needs to move in immediately, but when he is urged by his mother (Ghita Norby) to take the reins he does so with trepidation as he must subvert the promotion of his brother-in-law Ulrik (Lars Brygmann), and driving a wedge between himself and Maria and his sister Benedikte (Karina Skands). Christoffer is forced to make drastic decisions to save the business and the mantle of corporate power that he must wear erodes his personality and slowly charges his relationship with all those he interacts with as he attempts to save his business and those workers who depend on it for their livelihood.
