Pfaff cannot do it all on his own Warning: Spoilers
The best thing about this 90-minute television movie from almost 15 years ago is that it is not as bad as its title suggests. It sounds like one of these terrible romantic comedies, but it is really more a film about fatherhood. Pfaff actually gives a very good performance, but I am also a great fan of his from watching "Der Dicke". Rita Russek I kinda like on Wilsberg, but here she doesn't do much for me, also has the same face expression all movie long. Same goes for Thomalla, who is one of the worst actresses Germany currently has, although she is bearable in this one here. Looks like her downfall wasn't that heavy yet back in 2001. this movie came out shortly after 9/11 by the way. The film's director and writer (one of the duo) are actually pretty experienced with television filmmaking, but it does not really show. especially the script is downright bad occasionally. Some of the dialogs are fairly cringeworthy and one daughter twist at the end really would have been enough, but I guess they had to make it to 90 minutes. The most ridiculous scene was maybe that they find it out the very same time who the real father from Pfaff's daughter is. And why do the two mothers and two daughters become close friends so suddenly. So random and unrealistic. The young female actors are okay, but really the only reason to watch this is Dieter Pfaff who shines as always. Rest in peace.
