Nascar legend Tony Stewart just fired a huge shot at Colin Kaepernick -- calling him a "dumbass" and an "idiot" over his National Anthem protest. "I'm sorry but @Kaepernick7 needs to learn the fact about police before running his dumbass mouth," Stewart said on Twitter. "He has no clue what they go thru! #idiot." Stewart is essentially echoing the sentiments of the San Francisco Police Officers Association -- which claimed the Qb showed an "incredible lack of knowledge.

Fifteen men. Fifteen layered “rocker” outfits from H&M. Fifteen obligations to make preteen girls clap, whinny, and vote. Who will win? Who will whinny?
I did a couple of times. Not raucously, but overall, the first showcase of American Idol‘s male contestant crop was much better than the distaff half’s debut on Tuesday night. Some areas of improvement over the ladies: less screaming; more looking-like-they-belong-on-a-stage; handsomeness; guitar antics; palpable sensuality; faces for gay men to enjoy. Maybe we didn’t get a tender, tearful moment in the vein of M.K. Nobilette‘s whispery triumph on Tuesday, but I think we clearly saw five dudes fulla feelings emerge as frontrunners. Which is convenient, considering only five are guaranteed to proceed.
I know this isn’t news to readers of TheBacklot, but it must be stated: Adam Lambert, who again appeared as a guest mentor alongside the world...

Your NFL Week 9 Recap, in the form of stupid pictures: Eagles 26, Colts 24 The Eagles clung on to beat the Colts in a down-to-the-wire showdown that featured a number of highly suspicious flags: Vikings 27, Cardinals 24 (Ot) The Vikings overcame two Cardinals special teams touchdowns and a 24-10 Fourth Quarter deficit to notch their third win, keeping their slim playoff hopes alive. In the wake of the victory, Minnesota fans’ opinions of coach Brad Childress remained ambiguous: Browns 34, Patriots 14 This result was easily the shocker of the week. Not the shocker of the week: Bill Belichick’s trademark passive-aggressive postgame handshake with Eric Mangini: Falcons 27, Buccaneers 21 The Falcons improved to 4-0 at home and retained sole possession of first in the Nfc South with a win over the upstart Bucs. The difference in this one? The Falcons starters ran out for the game through Stargate: Quick aside: Is there a term for...

Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan is urging officials in Japan to end the slaughter of dolphins and porpoises in the country - condemning the practise of killing sea mammals for meat.
The Irish actor, a longtime environmental campaigner, has praised the work of a group of investigative journalists who have documented the killing of dolphins in Japan in new film The Cove.
Brosnan admits he was shocked and appalled to see the real life cruelty onscreen - and is urging members of the public to petition American leaders in a bid to stop the slaughter in Japan.
He writes on his official website, with his wife Keely, "We have long been passionate about marine mammal protection. After watching The Cove, we were astonished to discover that more than than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are slaughtered in Japan each year, and that their meat - which contains toxic levels of mercury - is sold to consumers and in grocery stores across Japan.
"Without this kind of investigative journalism, the plight of dolphins and the safety of some of Japan’s seafood may not have been adequately reported. This powerful and moving film is an urgent cry for help - and now that the public finally knows the truth, we must demand change."...
