Romance mini-series, German style...
eustfam25 September 2004
I enjoyed watching this movie as it had all the ingredients of a wonderful soap. Coming from the 3rd world, I find it intriguing that soaps, whether Asian, American, Latin American, or in this case, German (!)--are mainly alike. It has the prerequisite boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, complications set in--will boy marry girl? Will it have a "and they lived happily ever after" kind of ending? Its conclusion is somewhat unconventional--not the usual prince and princess riding into the sunset but it holds the same promises that soaps do whether you are watching it in California or Mexico or Manila.

The events move fast, it holds the audience's attention...and if you enjoy sappy love stories, this is one movie you ought to see.

Well-made film

It was a real surprise! It begins as a classic soap opera, the story itself is by nothing new... a law student named Antonia, attractive young lady, a Cinderella, who eked out her income with a bit paparazzi work, meets a charismatic millionaire and both fall in love... but then it becomes a crime drama and keeps great rhythm, there aren't boredom or sluggishness. The story is always engaging and interesting until the final, with funny, romantic and dramatic scenes, big emotions, solid entertainment. Very good director and beautiful scenery. The whole atmosphere provides authenticity. The actors were very well chosen, in particular Kai Wiesinger as Leonardt Ahrendorff, that has something that makes him for women certainly desirable, and Vanni Corbellini, absolutely perfect for the complex and enigmatic role of Philip Stein. Definitely, the film has story, great actors, drama, love and passion.
