If you read my recent Cinematical Seven about my favorite Bruce Campbell moments, you know already how much I enjoy watching the actor/filmmaker onscreen. I was one of the people who refreshed her browser window continually in order to be able to score tickets to the Austin screening of My Name is Bruce, Campbell's latest film, which he directed and starred in. The first screening sold out in Austin in record time. (They added two more screenings as a result, which also sold out quickly.)
So you can well imagine my reaction when given the opportunity to interview Campbell while he was in Austin for the screening. I had fleeting nightmare visions of the interview sounding like Bridget Jones interviewing Colin Firth in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, or like one of those interviews Chris Farley used to do on Saturday Night Live ("You know that scene in

From Impawards comes the first poster for Richard Curtis' next comedy "The Boat That Rocked," about a band of rogue DJs that captivated Britain, playing the music that defined a generation and standing up to a government that, incomprehensibly, preferred jazz.
On board are Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh and Nick Frost. Curtis, who co-wrote "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral," among others, last directed the wonderful "Love Actually."

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant will star in a new romantic comedy for Marc Lawrence, the director of Music and Lyrics and Two Weeks Notice a the writer of the Miss Congeniality movies.
Yes, that might be the scariest thing you see all day.
Variety reports that the untitled film, formerly known as Buffalo Faith, will feature the first ballot Rom-Com Hall of Fame inductees as "a high-powered New York couple who witness a murder and are placed in a witness protection program in a small Wyoming town."
Sure, because that basic concept worked so well in My Blue Heaven.
I think I'd rather drink gasoline than see this movie.
What in the hell happened to Hugh Grant? He's not even trying anymore. Or does he actually like all these romantic comedies? About a Boy is a keeper,

He might be taking a kicking in the press over his very public separation from wife Madonna, but we’ve got something to bring a smile to the face of Brit director Guy Ritchie – his debut film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels has been named the best movie set in London. The crime caper starring Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones clocks in with London locales such as Bethnall Green, Southwark and Hackney securing it the top spot in a poll conducted to coincide with The Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival which kicked off on 15th October. So, which other capital classics ranked in the survey? Read on.
Coming in second was Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright’s “zom-rom-com” Shaun of the Dead while the bronze medal was awarded to another zombie yarn, this time the full-out terror of Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later starring Cillian Murphy. In the latter,

The 1998 gangster film saw off competition from Simon Pegg's zombie comedy Shaun Of The Dead which came in second place in the poll.
In third was horror movie 28 Days Later, followed by Hugh Grant romantic-comedy Love Actually.
Rounding out the top five was Withnail + I, in the survey which was timed to coincide with the London Film Festival, currently happening in the British capital.

Though this bit of casting didn't work earlier this year for Deception, Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams are back on for Incendiary, a film that debuted here in the states at Sundance.
Incendiary features the tag line, "The Truth Can Blow You Apart," which is fitting since Williams plays a woman whose husband and son are among the many victims of a bombing at a soccer match. Why wasn't she killed, too? Because she was busy sleeping with another guy.
Can you say guilt-ridden?
It's only after the explosion that she finds herself in a love triangle with McGregor and Matthew MacFadyen. So, we may have trouble rooting for her in this.
Here's a peculiar side note: This flick was directed by Sharon Maguire, her first film since Bridget Jones' Diary. Seems like an odd choice.

Incendiary opens in the UK on October 24th.

First, let's give Renee Zellweger credit where it is due. She's turned in some great comedic performances in the Bridget Jones movies-- even when the movies were no good--and actually made us believe it when Tom Cruise told her that she completed him in Jerry Maguire. But her roles this decade have mostly been set in the past, and whether the movie took place in the Old West or the screwball 1930s, Zellweger has been the worst part of it. Filmmakers, take note: Renee Zellweger will ruin your period piece, and only you can prevent this from happening. Ed Harris is the latest to fall victim to her curse, completely miscasting her as a seductress of the Wild West in Appaloosa. But George Clooney made the exact same mistake six months ago, casting Zellweger in Leatherheads as a sassy 30s spitfire, like Rosalind Russell in His Girl Friday? George ...

Colin Firth made women go weak at the knees when he emerged dripping from a lake in the BBC's Pride And Prejudice. Despite trying his hand at all manner of other roles (including ten in the last two years alone), he remains etched in the national consciousness as the dashing Mr. Darcy and his modern-day Bridget Jones equivalent. But the brooding hero is nowhere in sight in latest outing Mamma Mia!, which sees him camping it up to Abba in sequined spandex. As the musical extravaganza opens in cinemas across the UK, it's time to learn more about the thinking woman's leading man. 1. Colin's parents were college lecturers who raised their young family in Nigeria for four years before returning to Hampshire. They later moved across the pond to St Louis for a few months when Colin was 12. 2. Colin was never destined to follow his parents into (more)

Hollywood actress Renee Zellweger is obsessed with house renovations - after she was taught home improvement skills as a child.
Zellweger, 39, owes her handiwork talents to her engineer father Emil who made sure she was never too scared to get involved with his various projects as she was growing up.
And the Bridget Jones' Diary star insists she is proficient in car maintenance as well as home improvements, and always finds an opportunity to make use of her talents.
She says, "He (my father) always made sure my brother and I knew how to change tyres, the oil and the brake shoes. We built a house together, all of us, when I was about nine or 10.
"We wired it, laid the foundation and tiled the floors. It's easier than you think. Believe me, when I'm not working, I'm not afraid to pick up a paintbrush. I'm always redoing my places.
"During (the filming of 1996 film) Jerry Maguire, I lived in this little apartment I referred to as the 'crack apartment'. I got in there with a shovel and redid the whole place while we were making the movie.
"When I told Tom Cruise about it, he went out and bought me a stereo."

Renee Zellweger is happy without a fixed abode - insisting she doesn't need a home to feel settled.
The Bridget Jones star recently sold her house in California and put all of her possessions into storage, because she felt her life as a movie star meant she didn't spend enough time there to justify the hefty mortgage.
But the 38-year-old is much happier living in hotels as it gives her a sense of freedom.
She says, "I'm never bored. The whole world is home. It's my playground. I can go and play anywhere and I love it. I like to move along.
"I had a really nice house in Bel Air and I was paying this huge mortgage for my cat.
"I have my storage in New York. Home is where my mum and dad and niece and nephew are."

Renee Zellweger hates performing nude scenes for movies - and would turn down a perfect film role if it required her to show off her intimate areas.
The Bridget Jones star - who has been nominated for three Academy Awards - ignores scripts if they contain a naked scene, stating she is not a fan of "booby" shots.
And the 38-year-old beauty claims being one of Hollywood's highest paid actresses doesn't mean she gets the pick of the best roles.
She says, "I wouldn't say I can choose absolutely any movie role I wanted - so many variables play into it.
"But you can always choose what you don't want to do - like if I see a script that says, 'Close up on booby first shot,' I'll probably say pass to that."

Renee Zellweger is shocked she still has a full head of hair - because she has dyed it so many times for movie roles.
The Bridget Jones's Diary star has sported both blonde and brunette locks over the years, and insists she's had some interesting hair colours as a result.
She tells InStyle magazine, "(It's amazing) it's still attached to my head, by the grace of God."
"What I didn't know is the temporary stuff stains the inside of the shaft, so you can't get it out. Ronald McDonald red. Then it faded to pumpkin. Then it was pink, then mango. Mango hair - now that's a look."

Renee Zellweger was so desperate to work with her pal George Clooney, she would have done anything to be a part of his new movie Leatherheads - even joining the catering crew.
Clooney directs and stars in the new romantic comedy alongside Zellweger, which is centred on a 1920s American football team.
And the Bridget Jones's Diary star admits she would have accepted any job on the film just to "live the dream".
She tells American magazine InStyle, "I heard George was making a movie and I said, 'When?' If he had asked me to make peanut-butter sandwiches for the catering, I would have said, 'Crunchy or smooth?'
"It's never less than great with him. And poor me, I had to watch guys throw a football all day ... Talk about living the dream."

Renee Zellweger has a great idea for a third Bridget Jones's Diary movie, and will play the singleton on the big screen again - as long as she doesn't have to pile on the weight.
The actress has padded out to play Helen Fielding's literary heroine in two movies to date, winning over cinema audiences and critics alike with her portrayal of the unlucky-in-love Brit.
It has been four years since the last film Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason - but Zellweger hasn't ruled out a return.
She says, "If it works into my life and it's worthwhile and interesting. It depends on there being another book, of course. I would love to read how she's been. Actually, I would love her to go to L.A. and have a baby."
But she says of the weight issue: "I had a panic attack with all the specialists talking about how bad this is for you long-term, putting on that much weight in short periods of time. The health professionals were warning me about not continuing the project any further.
"(It was) absolutely horrible (losing the weight). The first lap around the track, I felt like I had a small toddler attached to my back."
