Big news for fans of serial killers with hearts of gold:
A Dexter prequel series titled Dexter: Original Sin has been in development for some time, and earlier today, Showtime revealed the three talented stars who will portray the main members of the troubled Morgan family.
Irish actor Patrick Gibson -- best known for his work in period pieces like The Tudors and Shadow and Bone -- will be stepping into Michael C. Hall's shoes as the titular blood spatter analyst.
The role of Dexter's straightlaced sister Deb will be played by Molly Brown, and Christian Slater will portray the siblings' dad, Harry Morgan.
Original showrunner Clyde Phillips will return for the 10-episode prequel series.
The show is currently being framed as a limited series, but you know how these things go.

Summer school begins early this year.
No, you won’t be challenged with tests or catching and marking grasshoppers, but you will feel forced to sit through class nonetheless when the next generation of Pretty Little Liars returns with their own type of Summer School.
This season discusses the classic movie trope with which Pretty Little Liars has become synonymous — the final girl.
TV Fanatic had the opportunity to get in front of the cast and creators for a little Q&a, and they did the best they could to entertain and tease without spoiling too much — just as we like it.
We first spoke to the group that not only has answers but who makes the decisions. Creators Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring were joined by Pll mom Sharon Leal.

The Oscar-winning actress took to Instagram and wrote: “Like millions around the world I have spent the last weeks sick and angry at the terrorist attack in Israel, the death of so many innocent civilians, and wondering how best to help.

Slasher movies have been around for decades, and they excel because you have a group of people stalked by a killer, only to have the story end within 90 minutes.
Slashers on TV take things in a different direction, with the story being told over a longer arc.
That doesn't always work, but some slashers have delivered on their promise.
Because we're TV Fanatics, we've rounded up some of the best slashers to hit the small screen.
Check them out below.

There’s a lot to watch on Prime Video in October and, as you may have guessed, there’s spooky stuff galore in amongst Prime’s usual rotation of extensive library content.
In the movie Totally Killer, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka travels back in time to the 1980s to stop a serial killer. Then there’s Make Me Scream, a Halloween special that challenges celebrities to “a gruesome game of terror.” Renfield will also be streaming on the service for anyone who’s been dying (muahahaha!) to catch the Nic Cage Dracula film.
Outside of Prime Video’s more creepy fare, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods will debut, Upload will be back for a third season, and new film Awareness should scratch your sci-fi itch. Meanwhile, for Frasier heads – those who consider themselves utterly Frasier-pilled – all eleven seasons of the Cheers spinoff show will be streaming at the touch of a button.

When Starfield‘s September release date was finally confirmed, many gamers suddenly felt bad for Baldur’s Gate 3. After all, what chance did a Crpg sequel in a largely forgotten franchise have of going head-to-head with one of the biggest blockbuster RPGs we’ve seen in decades? The situation was seemingly resolved (or at least downplayed) when Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios decided to move the game’s PC release date up by about a month, partially to avoid the competition. Since then, quite a lot has happened.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is not just one of the best games of 2023 but one of the year’s biggest surprises as well. Despite bucking so many modern game conventions, it has exceeded even the wildest sales expectations and has even started a strange debate over whether it’s actually too good. Suddenly, it feels like Starfield is on the back foot.

After seven seasons, Showtime’s widely-watched gem “Billions” will be returning this week for its final season.
Created by Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin, the financial drama first premiered in 2016 and follows the cat-and-mouse games between a hedge fund manager (Damian Lewis) and the United States Attorney (Paul Giamatti).
The first season was loosely inspired by Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and his prosecution of S.A.C. Capital Advisors’ Steven A. Cohen. But as the show has continued, it’s morphed away from its real-life inspiration to become something else entirely.

Ian Harding is a dad! The "Pretty Little Liars" star shared an adorable Instagram post of his own hand holding a baby's tiny one along with the caption, "Thank you for the Birthday wishes folks. I'm thankful for many things this past year, but most of all I'm grateful for the best early birthday present a fella could ask for." The post was shared on Sept. 16, Harding's birthday, but it's unclear when exactly his bundle of joy arrived.
Harding is notoriously private, and the post marks the first time he's mentioned any kind of baby news. He also waited nearly two years to reveal that he'd married his longtime girlfriend, Sophie Hart, sharing a throwback post on Instagram in February 2021 that featured a wedding ring. "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin" and "Stranger Things" may not immediately strike you as two shows that have a ton in common, but they're actually a lot alike. Both center on a crew of close teenage friends running around their small town trying to bring down a mysterious killer. Sure, the HBO Max reboot's villain isn't a monster, but that doesn't mean they're any less scary or deadly than a Demogorgon.
Add one more similarity to the list of things the two shows share, because a beloved "Stranger Things" character plays a key role in "Pll: Original Sin." Gabriella Pizzolo - who plays Dustin's (Gaten Matarazzo) tech-y, long-distance girlfriend, Suzie, in seasons three and four of the Netflix sci-fi show - is the actress portraying Angela Waters in "Pll: Original Sin." Much like Suzie, Pizzolo's "Pll: Original Sin" character doesn't appear on screen all that often,...

The fourth series of its franchise, “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” had big shoes to fill in the eyes of the fans. A group of teenage girls begins receiving messages from the mysterious “A,” who holds them responsible for something tragic that happened in the past. The series features a talented and diverse cast including Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney and Zaria. With a freshness rating of 100 on Rotten Tomatoes, the show made a scorching hot, July 28 premiere on HBO Max. But what did critics say?
Caroline Framke of Variety begins by stating the drama created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring of ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” “follows in its predecessor’s footsteps by establishing its tone straight from its evocative opening-credits sequence.” The praise only continues from there. “Think ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ and ‘Halloween’ — or, more accurate to the actual plot, ‘I Know What...

There's something about small towns that makes them the perfect setting for slasher stories.
Maybe it's the feeling of dread that everyone knows everyone, meaning that the person tormenting the town will be revealed to be a well-known individual.
In any case, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 1, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 2, and Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 3 make the happenings in Rosewood look like child's play in comparison to Millwood.
In fact, Millwood is more akin to Ravenswood, albeit probably a little scarier, and we should be prepared to lose any character at any time.
There was great skepticism when this series was announced, with many thinking it would seek to copy the original story with a poorly thought-out mystery.
That couldn't be further from the truth because this new iteration of A is one of the scariest villains to hit the small screen.

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin premieres tomorrow (July 28) with a three-episode drop on HBO Max.
While the series is very different from its predecessor, the connection between the liars is as strong as ever.
As we said in our review for the series, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin dials up the horror to deliver a very different series than people will expect.
TV Fanatic got to chat with the cast and creatives ahead of the premiere.
In our first interview, Bailee Madison (Imogen Adams) and Chandler Kinney (Tabby Haworthe) speak about what drew them to the series.
They also touch upon the fact that these characters are dealing with true horrors as they try to navigate being teenagers.
Maia Reficco (Noa Oliver) and Malia Pyles (Minnie "Mouse" Honrada) were drawn to the series because they were familiar with the original.
They speak about their characters, and how they fit into the Pretty Little Liars universe.

For a certain generation of TV watchers, the theme song for “Pretty Little Liars” scratches an itch like no other. The original series, which ran for seven seasons on ABC Family before the channel became Freeform, began each episode with the lilting melodies of the Pierces’ “Secret” over pristine images of the main quartet in their funereal finest, making winking eye contact with the camera in order to shush it. The stage thus set, TV’s first iteration of Sara Shepard’s novels was slick, if not exactly subtle.
Now, after two previous tries at spinoffs (“The Perfectionists” and “Ravenswood”) failed to launch, a new attempt at reviving the franchise has arrived in the form of “Original Sin.” Created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring of “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” the drama follows in its predecessor’s footsteps by establishing its tone straight from its evocative opening-credits sequence.

"Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin" is gearing up to put a brand new gang of Liars front and center as they're terrorized by "A" in the highly anticipated reboot. From the creators of "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" and "Riverdale," the forthcoming HBO Max revival promises to up the ante by introducing a darker and gorier twist on the original Freeform teen drama, which ran for seven seasons from 2010 to 2017.
The latest Pretty Little Liars spinoff follows two short-lived spinoffs, "Ravenwood" (2013) and "Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists" (2019). While a lot of the central details about "Original Sin" are still under wraps until the show hits the streamer, the biggest question remains - who'll slip into the role of "A" this time around? HBO Max's "Pretty Little Liars" reboot is almost here, and no one is as excited about it as the original cast! As teasers continue to drop for "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin," several members of the original cast have been sharing their excitement with all of us. Is this just a supportive gesture from one cast to another, or is it a hint that some of the original actors are secretly returning for the reboot?
The little information we do have about the premise of "Original Sin" does suggest that the door is open, at least, for some of the original cast to return. The reboot series is set within the existing "Pretty Little Liars" universe, although the exact relationship of the new story to the old one is still unclear. The main events take place 20 years after a tragedy tore through the blue-collar town of Millwood, far from the original town of Rosewood.

HBO Max is getting ready to try its hand at yet another spinoff of the popular Freeform teenage drama series "Pretty Little Liars," and the first look alone has sent chills down our spines. Could this be the first "Pll" spinoff that goes the distance?

“American Idol” crowned a new winner last night (May 22). Twenty-year old Louisa, Kentucky native Noah Thompson sealed the deal with a sultry performance of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire” and his original song, “One Day Tonight.” He beat out fellow country artist, HunterGirl.
After Thompson’s rendition of “I’m on Fire” — from Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” album — judge Katy Perry foreshadowed his victory. “So many people have fallen in love during that song, used it as their first-dance song,” she said. “I think you just swooped in and grabbed every heart in America by singing that song.”
Thompson also performed Rihanna’s “Stay,” his out-of-the-box pick from early in the season, and delivered a perfect duet with powerhouse Melissa Etheridge for her hit, “I’m The Only One.”

Leah Marlene kicked off the show in thrilling fashion with a rendition of Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA," a performance that garnered the 20-year-old much praise from the judges.

Courteney Cox‘s audition for Bruce Springsteen’s music video was awkward to say the least. During a recent chat on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, the 57-year-old actress recalled auditioning for Springsteen’s 1984 video for “Dancing in the Dark.” “I thought I was in the wrong place,” Cox said of showing up to the audition and being surrounded by...

Sony Music Group said it has acquired Bruce Springsteen’s entire recorded music and songwriting catalogs, confirming numerous media reports over the past 24 hours.
The combined value of the separate recording and publishing deals reportedly could reach the $500 million range or even as high as $600 million. Financial terms were not specified in the official announcement.
Springsteen is the latest top name in the music business to take advantage of a seller’s market due to the boom in streaming. Digital sales have surged in recent years and, until Covid, live touring revenues were also on the rise. Now, with touring still in an uncertain state, a range of established performers have been realizing the value of their career’s work. Among those whose catalogs have sold recently are Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, Neil Young and James Brown. Dylan’s pact earlier this year with Universal Music was worth $300 million.
