Man i thought i was the only one!

I remember this as a kid but none of my friends do. All i remember is the one bad lad wore a black and white hooped t-shirt every chance he got. I also remember the catchy theme tune. For me this was right up there with the greatest American hero, the sheriff and the satellite kid, huckleberry finn and Tom sawyer and otherworld which were showing around the same time. All good stuff. Anyone know if its being released on DVD? I tried the internet but found no links at all. Its as if the series never was made. I know the other shows i've mentioned have been released on DVD (not sure about Huck finn though) but not Poopsenagle. Any one out there know? - or care?

WOW: No one believed me...

WOW: No one believed me... ...I used to watch this on British TV although all I can remember is the theme song. For years my friends have been telling me a show never existed with the line 'there's a big red bus up in the sky, everyone said you'll never never fly' in the title song. But at last I am vindicated! I remember very little about the show except the theme song, and I suspect it wasn't that good, but something about it gave it a special place in my memory. Thanks to YouTube & IMDb. Check out this link for a clip of the title sequence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5hMNnXgH34 its still has good as ever, but shows how bad it really was.

People really remember this?

I LOVED this show, i have been asking people for years if anyone ever saw it. I have been working in several different countries, with people from all over the world and i always asked if anyone ever saw this 'crazy show with a load of kids and a professor in a flying bus looking for golden salamanders' and everyone (apart from my sister and one Australian girl) actually thought i was mad! I am delighted to hear that it was not just a strange dream that i made up in my head! I remember that there was one child who had red hair and i remember him (pretty sure it was a him) running through a field. I would LOVE it if it was available on DVD. I would buy it just to prove to people that i never lost my mind!

Is there anywhere to get this series from?
damamirlo11 March 2006
I was hooked to this series when I was a little girl, and unluckily missed many chapters. It was funny, fantastic and for all audiences. It's one of the series I've missed more. I'd love to see it again, but as someone said, it's just like if it had never existed. I hope it comes out in DVD. Even Jem and the Holograms did, why not Professor Poopsnaggle? Nowadays everyone criticizes many of the children's series available, but no one makes the old classics available anymore. This series had everything that would please a parent: kids working together in a team, pursuing a goal, having adventures, learning in the way, an ecological message when it wasn't fashionable and everywhere, and even multicultural stuff when it wasn't the politically correct stuff. And this multiculturality was even better than the one we are being force-fed today: all kids behaved by the same rules, but some of them had a cultural background, knowledge and spirituality that would ADD to the effectiveness and power of the group, instead of provoking any clash. I wish nowadays kids saw it. It was something to learn from, besides great fun.

A great bit of 80's Aussie TV memories
Cogg-In-The-Works29 December 2005
I used to love this as a kid, and everyone I speak to never remembers it. I still have one (just one) episode on tape that I watch every Christmas (and it's proof that it existed too!) :-) It was great fun about a big red bus that had been transformed into a zeppelin and a group of kids who spent their hols on sunny creek (?) holiday park... the theme tune was the best "choof choof chugga chugga, choof choof chugga chugga, choof choof chugga chugga poop poop". There was some kind of bad guy (like an evil count), who had a short stocky man in chauffeur gear driving him around... they had a weird man working for them called "Dingle" who was in touch with one of the lads from the red bus (A blond haired lad who always had a black t-shirt on)... in the one episode I have, Dingle is getting him to spy on the professor and make him take various photos of the interior of the zeppelin. Bring it out on DVD please! :-) If anyone else remembers this programme, please post here and share the memory... this was a brilliant series.

Awesome!

People actually know this show. I thought my memories were kind of skewed. I still remember the theme music. Does anyone have a scratchy old video tape recording out there? Getting the theme music on the internet would be hilarious. There is so little information about this show it's ridiculous. I'm sure there are master tapes out there, rotting in a basement. I obviously saw this who on re-runs in the early 90s, I didn't know it was from the eighties. I can really only remember in detail when the professor is abducted by the bad guys and the crew have to fly the bus-air-ship by them selves and crash in the desert or something. Then the Aboriginal kid crew member does some bush-tricks to get water and goes on 'walk about'. One of the kids was a traitor or something. Also in the opening, when they're singing, you can see the inner-workings of the airship-bus, where there are spinning bicycle wheels for some reason. That was the most catchy theme music of all time... "There's a great big bus way up in the sky, and everyone said it would never never fly...." So bizarre and crazy, I just really want to see it again. Cheers
