Charlotte Ross, best known for her four-year role as Detective Connie McDowell on ABC's NYPD Blue, has joined the cast of the alphabet comedy series Jake in Progress. Ross will portray Annie, the former fiancee of Jake (John Stamos), a handsome publicist looking for more substance in his life. Annie's unexpected arrival causes Jake to have thoughts about settling down, even though Annie is engaged to someone else. Wendie Malick, Ian Gomez and Rick Hoffman also star in Jake, from Brad Grey Television Prods. in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The show is scheduled to return in January for its second season. Ross' credits also include the Showtime series Beggars and Choosers and the NBC miniseries A Will of Their Own. In addition, she has guest-starred on NBC's Frasier and ER. Ross is repped by Endeavor, management firm the Collective and attorney Phil Davis.
