Pass through the gates of James Cameron's minute-long invocation here and enjoy a Titanic screen test with Kate Winslet as Rose acting opposite Clueless star Jeremy Sisto as Jack. Seeing a Leoless love blossoming is off-putting enough — add the golden soap opera lighting and the intermittently blurting musical score for the weirdness to ratchet one level higher, and then just consider the fact that you're seeing the eventual star of films like Bongwater, Trash, Dead Dog, and Robbing 'Hef almost receiving a spot that ended up going to one of our biggest movie stars. (Christian Bale also reportedly came close to getting the role over DiCaprio, too. Never forget.)...

Just when you think you've seen it all when it comes to James Cameron's Titanic, here comes a fun little nugget courtesy of the film's Blu-ray, which hits shelves this week. In it we see a 19-year-old Kate Winslet testing for the role of Rose opposite an actor who's definitely not the guy she eventually wound up with. Nope, that's Jeremy Sisto, of Law & Order and Clueless fame. Sisto, of course, did not wind up with the part of Jack (that went to a rising star named Leonardo DiCaprio), and so instead of costarring in the second highest-grossing movie of all time, Sisto went on to play a role in the 1997 film Bongwater while Winslet, James Cameron and company took home tons of Oscars. But Sisto's role was valuable in that his assistance here helped pave...

Subject: Jack Black, 41-year old actor and musician
Date of Assessment: May 25, 2011
Positive Buzzwords: Frat pack, voice work
Negative Buzzwords: Limited range, annoying
The Case: Not too terribly long ago, Dustin predicted that, between Year One and Gulliver's Travels, Jack Black's career would almost certainly soon be over. One can only hope this is the case, for any actor who has appeared in such classics as Bongwater, Johnny Skidmarks, and some straight-to-video movie called Laser Fart shouldn't have achieved the mainstream Hollywood success that Jack Black has somehow enjoyed until recently.
And yet...
About ten years ago, Jack Black had already been puttering around Hollywood for a good decade or so, but it was High Fidelity that really brought him mainstream attention. And although High Fidelity is a film beloved by many (and has spawned many mixtapes), it inadvertently kick started Black's ascent into quasi-superstardom. Soon after, he was...

Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Nikki Reed (Twilight), and Rebecca De Mornay are set to star in a new film called Downers Grove. The film is an adaptation from the novel written by Michael Hornburg, and the screenplay was written by Bret Easton Ellis. Ellis is the author of such classic novels as American Psycho, The Rules of Attraction and Less Than Zero. Downers Grove is the first screenplay he's written not based on his own work.
The film is being directed by Nelson McCormick, whose worked on lackluster remake horror films such as Prom Night and The Stepfather. The story revolves around a cursed high school in the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove. At the end of each school year, one senior dies in a bizarre death.
The film has a solid writer and a mediocre director. Unfortunately, it will most likely end up being another forgettable teen horror thriller. What do you all think?...
