• Rassilon : Others have claimed immortality throughout the ages. It was given to them as it shall be given to you. Your place is prepared, Lord President Borusa.

  Borusa : Oh! Oh!

  [Lord Borusa looks backwards at the space Lord Rassilon has prepared for him. His face appears etched in stone. Lord Borusa's eyes twitch before turning to stone] 

  Rassilon : And what of you, Doctors? Do you claim immortality too?

  First Doctor : No!

  Second Doctor : No, no!

  Third Doctor : No!

  Fifth Doctor : That's quite alright.

  Fifth Doctor : Yes, and the most agreeable.

  Fifth Doctor : [the first three Doctors break Borusa's control over the Fifth Doctor]  You see, Borusa? Together, we're a match for you!

  Borusa : Perhaps, but you will never overcome it.

  Fifth Doctor : But Chancellor Flavia will be here with her guards... or will you overcome the entire High Council?

  Rassilon : [suddenly appearing as a hologram above the crypt]  This is the Game of Rassilon!

  Borusa : I am Borusa, Lord and President of Gallifrey.

  Rassilon : Why have you come here?

  Borusa : I come to claim that which is promised.

  Rassilon : You seek immortality?

  Borusa : Yes.

  Rassilon : And who are these three?

  Borusa : These are my servants.

  Second Doctor : [angrily]  We most certainly are not!

  Third Doctor : Don't believe him!

  Fifth Doctor : That's nonsense!

  First Doctor : Don't believe them, Lord Rassilon! President Borusa speaks the truth!

  Rassilon : You believe that President Borusa deserves the immortality he seeks?

  First Doctor : Indeed I do.

  Rassilon : He shall have it. Take the ring. Do you claim immortality, Lord Borusa? You will not turn back?

  Borusa : Never!

• Captain Yates : [the Third Doctor reaches a corner in the Dark Tower and, after looking around it, starts to walk back. From around the corner steps Captain Mike Yates]  Doctor? Doctor, this way.

  Third Doctor : Mike? Mike Yates? How did you get here?

  Captain Yates : Same way as you. Liz Shaw is here, too.

  [Liz enters] 

  Third Doctor : Good heavens. Hello Liz. Any more of you?

  Liz Shaw : Someone you should know very well. Come and see for yourself.

  Third Doctor : Ah, not that little fellow in the checked trousers and the black frock coat?

  Liz Shaw : And more - there are five of you now.

  Third Doctor : Oh, good grief.

  Captain Yates : And they're waiting for you.

  Third Doctor : Yes, well, you wait here for a moment - I'll go and get Sarah.

  Captain Yates : I'll fetch her.

  Third Doctor : No, I, er... I think I'll go, Mike. She's nervous enough as it is.

  Liz Shaw : Let Mike go. Your other selves need you urgently.

  [the Third Doctor stares at Liz and Yates for a moment] 

  Third Doctor : No, I think I'll go thanks.

  [He runs off] 

  Captain Yates : [fails to stop Third Doctor]  No, Doctor!

  Liz Shaw : Stop him!

  Third Doctor : [runs down the corridor]  How? You're phantoms - illusions of the mind!

  Liz Shaw : STOP HIM!

  [Liz and Yates disappear] 

  Sarah : [sitting at the stairwell]  What's happening? Doctor? Doctor!

  [She jumps up and runs into the Third Doctor as he returns] 

  Sarah : Oh, there you are.

  Third Doctor : Sarah?

  Sarah : Sarah? Of course I am. What are you talking about? Listen - why did you leave me for so long? And what was that scream?

  Third Doctor : They were just phantoms from the past.

  Sarah : Yes, well, I'm in the present and I'm real.

  Third Doctor : Yes. Yeah, you're real enough. Come on.

  [They head down the corridor in the opposite direction from which the Third Doctor saw Liz and Yates]
