CBS announced today that it has renewed the hit drama series S.W.A.T. for the 2024-2025 season. The series will return for its eighth year on the network. S.W.A.T. is produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with CBS Studios.
“Here at CBS, we always ‘stay liquid’ and love a good dramatic twist, especially when it leads to an eighth season of S.W.A.T.!,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “The show continues to resonate with viewers thanks to our talented cast led by Shemar Moore and our amazing writers and producers who keep the show relevant and action-packed.
Reisenbach continued: “We’re very pleased to renew it again and incredibly grateful to our partners at Sony, CBS Studios, and Shemar for working so closely with us to bring it back for next season.”

S.W.A.T. is not ending after all. Beating the odds a second time, the action drama has been renewed for the 2024-25 season, with Shemar Moore set to continue as star and executive producer. I hear Season 8 will consist of 22 episodes.
The news comes a year after S.W.A.T. was canceled before the decision was dramatically reversed a couple of days later with a renewal for a seventh and final season. This time, the network is not boxing itself in and is leaving the door open to more by not branding 8 as the series’ final season.
The surprise renewal, which sources said came down pretty quickly over the last couple of days, also comes as S.W.A.T is wrapping production on its seventh season. Moore hinted at the drama not necessarily ending by posting set photos on his Ig story yesterday with the caption “Season 7 finale will be [fire emoji],” not referring to the episode as series finale.

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace burst onto screens earlier this year and told the story we'd heard so much about.
Missing from the story was Natalia's input, as we were essentially told one side of a story, which doesn't always give the whole picture.
Natalia's adoptive father, Michael Barnett, was front and center throughout the initial run, revealing how he and his then-wife came to be in the care of Natalia.
On The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks, we'll see Natalia reunited with Michael as they go through the bombshells from the first season, with Natalie offering input.
The next chapter "offers exclusive access to Natalia Grace Barnett as she shares her story and confronts her former adoptive parents Michael and Kristine Barnett's accusations head on," ID teases.
Throughout six parts, we see Natalia open up about her adoption saga and her family's allegations from Natalia's perspective,...

Shantel VanSanten has had many memorable roles throughout her impressive career on the small screen.
After breaking through as Quinn James on One Tree Hill in 2009, she's gone on to play Patty Spivot on The Flash, Julie Swagger on Shooter, and, more importantly, Karen Baldwin on For All Mankind.
In 2022, she joined the cast of FBI in the recurring role of Nina Chase, who blossomed into one of the best characters on the show.
Nina was a recurring player during Missy Peregrym's absence and didn't get much to do after the former's return.
Thankfully, the creatives at the wheel of the FBI franchise have come up with the inspired decision of shipping VanSanten over to FBI: Most Wanted.
It's an exciting time because there are many possibilities about how this will play out, so let's dive in.
Easier Crossover Potential

There will (presumably) be a crossover romance on at least one of Dick Wolf‘s franchises this season. Shantel VanSanten, who debuted as Special Agent Nina Chase, with whom John Boyd‘s Stuart Scola had a history, in FBI Season 4, is moving over to one of the show’s spinoffs, Most Wanted, for its upcoming fifth season, according to Deadline. She also recurred in FBI Season 5 and had a major role in the big, three-show crossover, though due to Nina’s injuries overseas, she didn’t work with the Fugitive Task Force of Most Wanted once they joined the FBI and International teams on the case. This news comes after it was announced in August that Most Wanted would be losing one of its agents, with Alexa Davalos, who played Kristin Gaines since Season 3, not returning. It’s unclear yet how she will be written out, and now we’ll...

With the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA Strikes, CBS is the first network to reveal return dates for its slate of scripted series.
The network's game plan is to roll out most of its returning series beginning in February 2024.
The good news? We should be in for uninterrupted 10-13 episode seasons.
Yes, these episode orders are a far cry from what we're accustomed to, but given the circumstances, it's a miracle any of these shows will have episodes in the bank to go early next year.
CBS will use the Super Bowl to promote its 2024 slate, which is a good move.
Tracker, starring Justin Hartley, will kick things off on Sunday, February 11, 2024, airing out of the Super Bowl Lviii.
Fire Country Season 2: Everything We Know
The episode is set to air in the 10 p.m. slot, but if previous Super Bowl telecasts are any indication, that time will be delayed.

Adapted from the Joe Hill story of the same name, Scott Derrickson’s The Black Phone perfectly captures the harrowing nature of childhood, straddling the line between creating an emotionally driven narrative that packs a wallop coupled with a story brimming with tension and terror. Not that I wasn’t expecting anything less from the creative team behind Sinister (which still remains the last genre movie to truly scare me), but I really enjoyed how Derrickson has once again crafted a modern horror classic in the making that may have these touches of nostalgia, but still feels of this time all the same.
The Black Phone transports us back to the year 1978 and is centered around a young boy named Finney (Mason Thames), who spends his time avoiding conflict however he can, whether it’s dodging bullies at school or doing his best not to piss off his alcoholic dad.

CBS’ FBI and FBI: Most Wanted could be joined by another spinoff in the not so distant future.

We hear that Wolf, who co-created mothership FBI with Craig Turk, has had conversations with CBS about launching a second spinoff series in the FBI universe. The two sides will likely start working on developing another FBI series next season as they wanted to focus on launching FBI: Most Wanted this season.

During the TCA session for FBI: Most Wanted, Wolf, who is behind the formidable Law & Order and Chicago franchises, didn’t address directly the possibility of further FBI shows,...
Executive producer Dick Wolf has always envisioned FBI as a franchise, and pitched the original series to CBS that way from the get-go.

CBS’s FBI and FBI: Most Wanted are set for a crossover episode in the spring, according to exec producer Dick Wolf.
Wolf revealed that the two shows will come back together after FBI: Most Wanted began life as a planted pilot in its parent show.
Speaking at the Winter TCA press tour, Wolf said, “Clearly, the audience was waiting for the show. The show, to me, is part of the same family. It’s inextricably linked in terms of attitude, but the storytelling is very different, and will lend itself to crossovers. We will be doing a crossover in the spring. We have good luck [with crossover episodes] in the past.”
Wolf admitted that the crossover would start in New York. He also hinted at potential crossovers with other series in the Wolf universe, such as Chicago Pd, despite the fact that they are on a different network. “Stay tuned… It’s going to get very interesting,...
