Originally meant to be one of three 30-minute shorts shown together by Miramax as a Sci-Fi/horror/comedy feature. This segment was originally going to be written and directed by Kevin Smith. The project was canceled when the other two segments, Mimic (1997) and Impostor (2001), grew into full-length features of their own.
This film finally received its belated UK premiere in February 2008 as the final film to be shown at the smallest cinema in Wales - La Charrette, a 23-seat converted railway carriage in a back garden in Swansea. The cinema was due to close in November 2007, but stayed open especially for the event after the venue's plight came to the attention of film critic Mark Kermode, who organized the special screening as a memorable farewell.
