The witch is back — and this time, with a track.
Netflix released the music video for the upcoming third season of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Thursday morning, in which Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) and the band Lovecraft perform their original song “Straight to Hell.” And while this is not a trailer in the traditional sense, the almost 3-minute video features first-look footage from Season 3.
In the music video, which you can view above, Sabrina sings about how when it comes to love, she’s “going straight to hell.” And heck, we can’t blame her, seeing as her boyfriend, Nick (Gavin Leatherwood) is currently stuck down there, with her father, Lucifer (Luke Cook), trapped inside his body. Yeah, so, she might wanna venture down there soon to save him.

Greg Berlanti and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to empower bloodsucking diversity with Dracula series The Brides
The weird sisters of Bram Stoker's Dracula are doing it for themselves. Greg Berlanti and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who brought the devil out of Riverdale to spawn Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, got an order from ABC to shoot a pilot for The Brides, according to Variety.
According to its official synopsis The Brides will be "a sexy, contemporary reimagining of the Dracula saga as a family drama with a trio of powerful, diverse female leads. With strong horror elements, The Brides is a vampire soap about empowered, immortal women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy—and their non-traditional family."
The project goes back to 2015, when NBC put in an order for a script. For ABC's desanguinated re-incarnation, the script will be written by Aguirre-Sacasa, who will executive produce alongside...

19 years ago, Charlie’s Angels hit the big screen and I absolutely loved that movie, three years later they followed it up with Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and to put it bluntly the movie sucked. We’ve got a new image to share with you from Netflix’s highly anticipated fantasy series The Witcher. The new photo features Henry Cavill as Geralt, and he’s looking like a badass who’s ready to run into battle.
The first trailer that was released for this series was awesome, and I can’t wait to see how the story actually plays out. The role of Geralt is a character that Cavil fought to play. He wanted it bad, and I think the fans are happy that he was ultimately cast.

In the TV world, 1999 was a pretty important time. The multi-Emmy Award-winning drama series “The Sopranos” and “The West Wing” premiered that year, as did Nickelodeon’s beloved “SpongeBob SquarePants,” which has spawned two movies and even a Broadway musical, and Seth MacFarlane’s raucous Fox animated “The Family Guy.”
But one of the most fondly remembered series — which kicked off the careers of actors including James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Linda Cardellini, Busy Philipps and John Francis Daley — didn’t even air its complete season. NBC’s high school dramedy “Freaks and Geeks” premiered Sept. 25, 1999, created by a pre-“Bridesmaids” Paul Feig and executive produced by Judd Apatow. The producing talent also included “School of Rock” writer Mike White and “Bad Teacher” director Jake Kasdan, and the show also featured guest stars including Ben Foster, Rashida Jones and a baby-faced Shia Labeouf. It looks like Netflix accidentally shared some information that revealed the release date of the highly anticipated fantasy series The Witcher.
Netflix shared a post on their Netherlands Twitter and Facebook accounts showing some of their upcoming shows and how many days there were before each of their release. Alongside titles like Atypical, The Crown, and Peaky Blinders there was The Witcher with 67 “nights sleep” until its release next to it. That would put the show being released on December 17th.
The Tweet has since been deleted, but not before Redanian Intelligence, a site dedicated to The Witcher series, snagged a screenshot.
Here’s the synopsis for the series:
The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Be among the first to get the exclusive scoop on the highly anticipated new Netflix original series centering around famed monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia. Be introduced to the world of The Continent,...

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” through the Season 2 finale.)
If the closing moments of the second season finale of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” hadn’t already made it clear that the show was going to take an even darker turn next season, then creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa did so Sunday by confirming the fiery setting Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) and co. will be entering when the show returns.
“I think it’s safe to say that we are going to Hell, yes,” he told TheWrap during the Television Critics Association press tour. “We’re going to Hell. It’s very fun. It’s very fun. It’s dangerous, but it’s really fun.”
For those who need a quick refresher, “Sabrina” Season 2 — which launched in April — ended with the half-human, half-witch teen telling her crew she planned to journey down to hell to rescue her boyfriend Nick...

The nostalgia for a 1990s TV crossover that never was is real, y'all. In Melissa Joan Hart's Netflix series No Good Nick, viewers are (sort of) getting the Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossover they dreamed off when Charisma Carpenter guest stars. Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase on Buffy and its spinoff series Angel, guest stars in part two of No Good Nick as Jacquelyn, a (fictional) quirky producer from a Bravo's Top Chef. You see, it's Liz Thompson's (Hart) dream to be on the series and she qualifies as a contestant and must deal with Jacquelyn. See the exclusive clip below. "Just do everything that we normally would and pretend like we're not here,"...

Collin Chou, best known for his role as Seraph from The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, will play Edwin Chiu in the Netflix film, The Half of It, written and directed by Alice Wu. The project, the follow up to Wu’s 2004 film, Saving Face, the pic navigates the struggles of an immigrant family against the backdrop of an Americana teenage angst romantic comedy. The plot is said to be a modern day Cyrano-meets-Pygmalion centered on a shy, introverted, Chinese-American, straight-a student who finds herself helping the school jock woo the girl they both secretly love. In the process, each teaches the other about the nature of love as they find a connection in the most unlikely of places. Chou’s Edwin Chiu is struggling immigrant father of Ellie Chu (Leah Lewis) who was a highly educated engineer whose promising career was derailed by his poor English skills when he moved to America.

Last year flew by like a speeding train and now sadly—or maybe happily—it has come to an end. I didn't get a chance to watch everything I wanted to see, but I made sure to shove as much horror goodness into my eyeballs as possible, and I've now reflected on the horror releases that stood out to me in 2018. From the divisive Hereditary to Netflix's wildly popular Bird Box to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 1, here is my list of favorites for 2018:
Bird Box: I hadn't seen any of the discussions about Bird Box on social media before viewing the film. The holiday season had just begun, and I found myself with a lot of downtime so, of course, I headed straight to Netflix. I saw that it was listed in the "Trending" category and since Sandra Bullock rarely lets me down, I took a chance on it.

Fans of the Archie universe will know that the upcoming Netflix series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” was initially in development on The CW, the network home to showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s other show “Riverdale.”
But it turns out that before plans were made to give the teenage witch her own show, the “Riverdale” writers tossed around the idea of bringing the character in as the Season 1 finale reveal, thus switching up the genre to better match the comics. Aguirre-Sacasa writes the “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “Afterlife With Archie” comic books.
“During Season 1 of ‘Riverdale’ — before ‘Riverdale’ exploded and found its footing as sort of a noir, crime, pulp show — we had said, ‘Maybe season 2 will be like [the comic] ‘Afterlife With Archie.’ We’ll do a big genre switch and it will be horror, and it will be ‘Afterlife’ and Sabrina could come and be the antagonist,” Aguirre-Sacasa said in an Entertainment Weekly interview on Thursday.

The new series is based on writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's rebooting of Archie Comics' "Sabrina" comic books, delving into the occult origins of the teenager who tries to reconcile her dual nature of being half-witch and half-mortal while protecting her family and the world from the forces of evil.
"Sabrina the Teen-age Witch", was originally created by writer George Gladir and illlustrator Dan DeCarlo...
...debuting in "Archie's Madhouse #22" (Oct. 1962).
Original premise is that young 'Sabrina Spellman' is a 'half-witch', living with her father's two witch sisters, 'Hilda' and 'Zelda Spellman', in the town of 'Greendale'.
Also living with them is the family pet 'Mr. Salem Saberhagen', a male witch turned into a cat as punishment for 'world domination' attempts.

If you've read the Lovecraftian, darkly humorous, and autumnally atmospheric comic book series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, then there's a good chance that you want to cast a spell on your clock to speed up the arrival of the Netflix series adaptation (starring Kiernan Shipka in the lead role). While we can't make October 26th get here any quicker, we now have a look at the official trailer, complete with a nod to George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead.
As mentioned, the new Sabrina TV series is based on Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's comic book series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which features chillingly atmospheric artwork by Robert Hack.
Aguirre-Sacasa, who developed The CW's Riverdale TV series, writes and executive produces the series, with Lee Toland Krieger (Riverdale) on board as a director and executive producer. Also executive producing the new series are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater,...

It's almost time to make our way back to Greendale!
Netflix on Wednesday dropped the full trailer for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 1, and it makes one thing clear:
This is not the Sabrina Spellman you watched on TV all those years ago!
Instead, this new TV series will take a darker, less comedic approach to tell the tale of the youngster as she tries to get to grips with what's expected of her as she turns sixteen-years-old.
Kiernan Shipka takes on the role of the titular character, and Spellman is not a character who likes to follow rules.
Instead, she does quite the opposite, as teased in the trailer when her dress turns from white to black as she is forced to choose a side in everything.
Without spoiling too much from the trailer, a deadly chain of events ensue, and it looks like Sabrina is going to find herself in trouble before long.

While the rulebook for when to launch a TV series has been thrown out the window in the era of Peak TV, the fall months remain some of the busiest with both returning favorites and new potentially binge-worthy series. October see’s a lot for both streaming and cable services with too many to even include on the list. Those left off but worth noting include the return of The CW superhero series “Black Lightning,” “The Flash” and “Arrow” along with another returning shows such as Showtime’s “Ray Donovan,” NBC’s brilliant “The Good Place,” AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and AMC’s “Fresh off the Boat.” New series include Netflix’s “Wanderlust” and Hulu’s “Into the Dark.”
But, alas, we had to narrow the list to 11, and here’s what we feel like are the best bets for TV in October:

The streaming TV players are leaning hard on Halloween this year, with Hulu launching its monthly horror franchise “Into the Dark” Oct. 5 and Netflix’s “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” coming Oct. 26. While “Sabrina” comes pre-sold to its potential audience, tied in as it is to the “Riverdale” universe both through its source material and its creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Netflix’s other horror series this October has fewer hooks to grab its audience, and announces its ambitions slowly.
“The Haunting of Hill House,” coming to the streamer Oct. 12, is a horror series that doesn’t immediately make a case for itself; like the best of the genre, it’s slowly insinuating, building in power as it tells a story of repressed trauma and family discord. It’s an effective scare-fest that is at its best when the tale does more than jolt the viewer.

The more that I hear about and see from Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the more excited I get about watching it. We've got some new information to share with you today that fans of the classic horror film The Exorcist might be interested in knowing.
It has been previously explained that the series "traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft" and "finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit."
The series is said to pick up on the verge of Sabrina's 16th birthday and with that comes an important decision. "Will she give up her human friends — and her adorable boyfriend, Harvey — to live life as a witch? Or will she turn her back on her powers in favor of the freedom that comes with humanity? Or can she somehow have it all?...

With the news that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is coming to Netflix this October, the streamer has started the promotional train for the highly anticipated TV series.
Two pictures have been released that give us our first look at Sabrina Spellman and some of the other characters in her life.
The first of which shows Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) in the woods, presumably in one of the many precarious situations the character finds herself in throughout the series.

As a witch, Sabrina will be trying to come to terms with what it entails to be practicing magic while simultaneously trying to get by as a teenager in the town of Greendale.

Sabrina the teenage witch is back, but this is not the Melissa Joan Hart version from your childhood. Netflix has debuted the first look photos from its upcoming series “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” starring “Mad Men” breakout Kiernan Shipka in the title role. The series puts a darker spin on the “Sabrina” comic books and comes from “Riverdale” showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
“The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” follows the titular half-human half-witch as she battles the forces of evil threatening her world, all while deciding whether she wants the life of a witch or the life of a human. The supporting cast includes Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, and Chance Perdomo. The series marks Shipka’s first regular television role since starring as Sally Draper on “Mad Men.”

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Monday, network president Mark Pedowitz said that Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (who is also the Cco at Archie Comics) “has something in mind” for an offshoot of the moody mystery series.
With a 0.49 demo average during Season 2, Riverdale was The CW’s No. 5-rated program (trailing The Flash, Black Lightning, Supernatural and Supergirl).
Aguirre-Sacasa himself later told reporters of the new spinoff idea, “We’re really excited, but we’re...

The CW will add a Sunday-night primetime programming block this fall — expanding to six nights a week for the first time in 10 years. Speaking to reporters Monday at the Television Critics Association, CW president Mark Pedowitz spoke about the impact of the linear expansion, which will add two hours a week to primetime.
“We found a terrific reception” from advertisers for the expansion, Pedowitz said. “Between that and the affiliates, they were thrilled. They were thrilled that we had grown. They were thrilled that we were making a positive statement about broadcast. The advertisers went out and really supported us.”
He added that advertising now represents more than 50% of the CW’s overall revenue, and that the addition of Sunday-night inventory increased upfront ad revenue 15-20% from last year.
Pedowitz was asked whether the CW had ever considered launching an ad-free subscription service as other linear networks such as CBS and FX have.

Riverdale and Greendale residents won’t be holding a mixer any time soon.
The CW president Mark Pedowitz said Monday that “there will be no cross connection” between “Riverdale” and the upcoming Netflix spinoff “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” — at least any time soon.
“‘Sabrina’ was originally, as you know, in development here,” Pedowitz told reporters during the network’s executive session at the Television Critics Association summer 2018 press tour. “The studio came to us — Peter came to me actually — and said, ‘We have a two-year commitment from Netflix.’ And I said, ‘Go with [Netflix], it’s the right thing to do for your business.'”
