A retired detective superintendent returns to his old precinct after six years--as a priest. But no sooner has he taken on a parish in the roughest part of town than his past catches up with him and he's involved in a series of criminal cases. This is the last thing he needs he does his best to keep out of it. But his concern for the welfare of those living in the seedy part of town around the railway station keeps getting the better of him. Armed with his charm, his knowledge of human nature, and a police officer's keen eyes, he aids the troubled and succeeds brilliantly in resolving the frequently tricky cases.
