Stephen Baldwin plotted to leak personal information about Kevin Costner to the New York Times if the two actors couldn't work out their business differences, a witness testified at a New Orleans trial over the business arrangement on Wednesday, CBS News reports. Scott Smith, the CEO of a company that had contracted with Bp after the 2010 Deep Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, told the court that Baldwin divulged the plan to him during a Nov. 2010 car ride from New Orleans to Grand Isle, La. A source tells HollywoodLife.com that Katy is Not dating male model Baptiste Giabiconi -- the reason? He's gay! Katy Perry is totally single! HollywoodLife.com has spoken to a source very close to the singer who tells us that Katy isn't seeing anyone and she's just friends with Baptiste Giabiconi, 22, the male model who is dating 77-year-old Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. "Katy thinks it's so funny, no, hilarious that people think she's dating Baptiste," a source tells us. "He is gay, gay, gay, they are not dating! She's known Baptiste for years and they are just friends." Katy just took to Twitter on March 29 to tell friends she is "single and satisfied." We told you that Katy wants to start dating and that she's going to let her good friend Rihanna set her up. We told you that rumors have been swirling that Baptiste and Karl are set to...

Hollywoodlife.com told you exclusively that Katy Perry was ready to date, but don't bet on the fever-pitch rumors that she's dating super-hunk Baptiste Giabiconi. He's reportedly dating 77-year-old designer Karl Lagerfeld! Katy Perry, 27, has been spending a lot of time with Frenchman Baptiste Giabiconi, 22, who happens to be the highest paid male model in the world, reports the Daily Mail. But despite reports the two may be dating, it looks like Baptiste only has eyes for his silver-haired septuagenarian. The pop star was recently caught exiting the Gare du Nord Eurostar station in Paris with Baptiste waiting for her. The two tried to avoid being snapped together by the paps -- perhaps to exacerbate the romance rumors as a running joke between them? Who knows?! We exclusively reported last month that Katy was ready to start dating again, but it looks like she's just gained a shopping buddy. Meanwhile,...

When Sophia Bush and her "One Tree Hill" co-star Austin Nichols returned from their trip to Grand Isle after the Deepwater Horizon exploded and oil began to spill into the Gulf of Mexico, they found themselves disheartened... and then they turned that feeling into action.
"We couldn't get on the beaches, they threatened to arrest us, they wouldn't let anybody help with the cleanup, and they also wouldn't tell you where you could go to quote-unquote train to do cleanup," Bush tells Zap2it. "They were really trying to shut people out. There was sort of this overarching feeling of helplessness, like, how are any of us supposed to make a difference with this if we can't get our hands dirty, if we can't volunteer, you know?"
That helpless feeling subsided during a visit with Bush and Nichols' good friend singer/songwriter Amy Kuney. "My dear friend Amy came over,...

Bp's Deepwater Horizon oil disaster is over, right? The well has been capped, the horror stories have stopped pouring out of the Gulf, and for the most part, things have gone back to normal. Except for one thing: those pesky oil dispersants--the chemicals that Bp is using to break up crude oil--might be making people sick.
That's the conclusion of an Al Jazeera investigation, which has found a number of people living along the Gulf Coast who are complaining of possible reactions to dispersants, which often contain solvents like petroleum distillates and 2-butoxyethanol (a fetal toxin that is known to cause blood and kidney disorders as well as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and dizziness, among other things). Al Jazeera reports:
Denise Rednour of Long Beach, Mississippi, has been taking walks on Long Beach nearly every day since the disaster began on April 20, and she is dealing with constant health issues. "I've...

"One Tree Hill's" Sophia Bush is training to run a half marathon -- and it hasn't been easy. "I've got the most god-awful, painful shin splints," she tells us. "They got bad enough that I realized this means no running... and no walking, either."
Bush - who still struggles with an old knee injury, not to mention asthma - was never an avid runner, but she set the half-marathon goal for herself in order to raise funds for Global Green's effort to rebuild the gulf coast after the oil spill.
Her fellow CW star, "Supernatural's" Misha Collins, has proven the formula successful; this week he ran 52 miles (83 km) in one day and raised over $67,000 dollars for orphanages in Haiti and victims of the Pakistan flooding. That number is still climbing as pledgers pony up their promised donations.

HollywoodNews.com: Sophia Bush of ‘One Tree Hill’ traveled to the Gulf to see the devastation of the recent oil spill and was moved to action by what she witnessed.
Now, the actress, who is involved with the fundraising site Crowdrise, will be running a half marathon in November to benefit the Gulf.
Below is a blog she recently posted about this experience:
So … running. When I think about running my brain turns into an athletic commercial. I see feet pounding the pavement in high tech sneakers. Dry fit gear comes to mind immediately. Vibrant colors, taught muscles, and music with great bass. I see beads of sweat forming along the runner’s brow. I envision fists pumping, chests heaving, and the sound of an elevated heart beat.
I do not, however, see my face on the athlete in my imagined montage. I don’t see myself running anywhere. Don’t get me wrong,...

Island Aid was one of those festivals that seemed to come with a live soundtrack to suit whatever was going on. The Deadliest Catch crew members in from Alaska were signing autographs as the Little River Band played "Hang On Help is On Its Way." The festival was organized when the nation's longest running Tarpon Fishing Rodeo was canceled after the oil spill shut down fishing. Organizers who pulled the event off in less than two months held their ground as Tropical Storm Bonnie approached. Full gallery Here on New Orleans.com. Speaking of nerves of steel, Discovery's Deadliest Catch Edgar Hansen, co-owner of The Northwestern, and crewmember Jake Anderson signed tee shirts and autographs for hours in a sweltering heat unlike anything they've experienced in Alaska. Both paused a very busy season to support Grand Isle's fishermen through the United...

There's no question that Bp has lied extensively over the past few months about the growing Gulf oil disaster. The company has bullied journalists, fudged numbers, and even deployed fake journalists to the Gulf to write about how everything is fine. Now Bp may be literally trying to cover up oiled beaches by dumping sand on top of them.
The video below, filmed by Judson Parker of Save Our Shores Florida, purportedly shows oil sandwiched between two layers of different types of sand. According to Parker, local deputies confirmed that Bp dumped sand onto the Grand Isle, Louisiana beach and attempted to smooth it over. But Wayne Keller, the Executive Director of the Grand Isle Port Commission, doesn't know anything about it. "I'm not aware of that being done anywhere on Grand Isle," he tells FastCompany.com. I know we're trucking in sand to build berms to keep oil out of the estuary,...

Ocean-loving volleyball champ Gabrielle Reece and her world class surfer husband Laird Hamilton have joined the growing list of celebrities trying to increase awareness about damage caused in the Gulf Oil Disaster.
The couple recently toured the oil and tar poisoned waters of the Gulf Coast with Natural Resources Defense Council staff members.
On a boat near Grand Isle, Louisiana, Reece and Hamilton witnessed firsthand the destruction the Bp oil spill has inflicted on the ocean and its creatures, including dolphins, pelicans and fish.
The couple also reflects about their love for the marine environment and why it's important to fight to protect it. "Never let this happen again," says Laird. "Never allow it happen again."

Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio loves seafood so much he canceled a fishing trip in Massachusetts to fly down to Grand Isle for the Friends of the Fishermen event. "I've been fishing my entire life," he told me Monday after the benefit. But today I'm not here as a chef, I'm here as someone who loves the water. At the age of 3 my grandfather had me out pulling crab traps." And what about the spill? "This is something that I have been following pretty much every day on the news like most Americans," Colicchio said. "I'm Frustrated. Louisiana native and "Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder has been working tirelessly to promote awareness of the dire situation on the Gulf Coast since the spill two months ago. He's been keeping fans and fellow activists updated via his Twitter, @iansomerhalder.

When we spoke with "Vampire Diaries" and "Lost" star Ian Somerhalder in May for Zap2it's sister publication the Los Angeles Times, he was still reeling from the tragic news of the Deepwater Horizon's explosion and the subsequent oil leak into the Gulf of Mexico.
Today Somerhalder, who was raised in Covington, La., is horrified that the leak still hasn't been plugged and that up to 60,000 barrels of oil are still pouring into the Gulf every day.

On Tuesday, June 15, President Obama interrupted our regular programming to address the Gulf Coast oil leak. It is his first Oval Office address.
"Make no mistake," he said. "We will fight this spill with everything we've got for as long it takes. We will make Bp pay for the damage their company has caused. And we will do whatever's necessary to help the Gulf Coast and its people recover from this tragedy."
Obama detailed his plan to meet with Bp executives at the White House on June 16. He will require them to establish an account and "set aside whatever resources are required to compensate the workers and business owners." We wonder if one company - even one as large as Bp - could possibly begin to pay for the losses already caused by the spill, and the losses that the communities will continue to suffer.

In a larger-than-life event like the Gulf Oil disaster, words can only do so much to portray the bitterness, anguish, and absurdity of the situation. We must also rely on images and video to document the tragedy. We've shown you some of the pictures. Below, we take a look at 5 of the most important Deepwater Horizon disaster-related videos, both serious and humorous.
This video from National Geographic shows the Deepwater Horizon rig shortly after the April 20th explosion that caused the underwater oil leak. At this point in time, the worst part of the disaster appeared to be the fiery rig.

The Bp Oil Spill is just the latest crisis to devastate the Gulf Coast region. (Previously, there was a very large hurricane that you may have heard about.) On 'The Rachel Maddow Show' (weeknights, 9Pm Et on MSNBC), Rachel visits a couple of Gulf Coast residents who are trying to make the best of things.
Jamie and Terri are the proprietors of the Dock of the Bay Bar on Grand Isle -- an island just off the coast of Louisiana, which has been one of the areas hardest hit by the oil spill. The main customers of the bar are fishermen, but there is no fishing in the area anymore, and thus, there are many fewer customers in the bar.

In the late afternoon March 30, on the eve of Memorial Day, the traditional kickoff to the Gulf Coast tourist season, Grand Isle, La., mayor David Camardelle ordered the beaches partially open. They'd been completely shut down at the start of the holiday weekend. Residents and visitors were allowed to walk along a portion of the shore but couldn't actually go close to the water, where Bp temporary workers and enlisted men and women built berms and blockades and cleaned up crude that had already washed up -- the result of the Bp oil leak still gushing into the gulf, the biggest leak in U.S. history.

Bp's COO Doug Suttles has announced that operation Top Kill, a plan involving the pumping of heavy mud, concrete, and junk into its gushing oil well 5,000 feet deep in the Gulf of Mexico, has failed. The next step, the New York Times reports, is a "lower marine riser package cap," in which workers plan to saw off the riser and put a device on top to capture the oil. So far, the leak has resulted in the largest oil spill in U.S. history.
Experts say anywhere from 504,000 to 4.2 million gallons a day are escaping from the well that ruptured after Transocean's Deepwater Horizon platform (leased by Bp) exploded on April 20. Recently, scientists have discovered...

Earlier today President Obama was in the Louisiana Gulf town of Grand Isle, where he made a statement in front of the press while surrounded by area Governors. Obama said “This is our highest priority and it deserves a response that is equal to the task.” Alas, reports have surfaced that today's actual clean-up response in Grand Isle was but a mere PR stunt by Bp. They were a "sham crew" bussed in by Bp for the event.
