Who is attempting to harm the leading lady?
jean302425 October 2005
My husband and I enjoyed this mystery, starring Morgan Fairchild and Engelbert Humperdinck. It kept you guessing all the way through the screenplay, and we were surprised at the ending. Engelbert, who is known more for his recording career and live concerts, did a great job in his first full-length film. Miss Fairchild was acceptable in her portrayal.

As the action takes place mostly in a bookstore and the home of the leading lady, the sets were well done.

We both would recommend it to anyone that likes thrillers and would like to see Mr. Humperdinck in more movies.

Watching for Morgan makes it worthwhile.

Warning: Spoilers
Morgan Fairchild is always worth watching, and as a novelist here, she's very down-to-earth in spite I love the fact that there's a mystery surrounding the death of her boyfriend who had a tragic accident when the lights on me went out in her Penthouse. The only issue is that she's not really mourning all that much, and it appears that there has been a series of accidents were people fall mysteriously over balconies. The cast list here seems to be missing a few important characters with her friend Suzanne not listed in the credits. There's also no listing of a release date so it may have gone straight to video.

Singer Engelbert Humperdinck is the detective on the case, using his charm to take her out to dinner, and the real mystery is to why everybody is so nice and easy going and so open, revealing so much about themselves. That's just a defect in the script, not the performances, although a conversation with their child and then she hires is quite amusing as they discussed. This gives me a "Hand that Rocks the Cradle" vibe, and it's obvious that you have to stick with the film to really putting everything together. Even with the deficiencies, Fairchild is a lot of fun to watch, and it's nice to see her playing a character who is not her stereotypical soap opera villain. The highlight help her looks is dressing up as Elvira for Halloween. Talk about camp meets camp!
