Sex & Nudity

  • No nudity. (The only "nudity" would be a man without a shirt on)
  • References are made to a man visiting a "knocking shop" (that is, a brothel).
  • A man and a woman are in bed. It is clear that they had sex.
  • A woman is persuaded by her lover to have sex with another man.
  • A woman implies to her husband that he has her permission to commit adultery.
  • Two different male characters commit adultery. In one instance, it is with the wife's permission.
  • A man and woman kiss. Some may be uncomfortable with the rather large age difference between the two.
  • An audio recording of a sexual encounter is played. It is a sad, emotional scene.

Violence & Gore

  • A brick is thrown through a woman's window. She then discovers her car has been vandalized.
  • A character poisons another character's stash of cocaine, clearly with the intent to murder him.
  • A character throws another to her death. This scene is sudden and shocking, but not gory.

Profanity

  • There is some mild profanity throughout. (ex: the s-word, the d-word, "whore," etc.) There are no f-words.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Many characters drink alcohol. It is not glamorized, but it is not condemned either.
  • A character uses cocaine repeatedly. The drugs themselves are sometimes shown clearly, as well as the character snorting it.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The constant theme of betrayal could be confusing to young viewers.
  • The deaths in the final episodes are unexpected and frightening (although not gory).
  • The vandalism of a key character's car and house is sudden and somewhat frightening.
