The image of Santa Claus has been curated over the years to become wholesome and a symbol of happiness. In the past, he had been seen as a representation of Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas. In the 80s, he seemed to take a darker turn as horror filmmakers decided to use his visage to corrupt the viewer’s expectations. This sweet and gentle man would now be a killer. Multiple films decided to use this idea, and a whole sub-genre of horror films was born. Which ones are the best killer Santa movies?
Violent Night (2022)

A wealthy family is held hostage, and it turns out their only hope is the fat man himself. David Harbour plays the legendary figure who is losing faith in the holiday. Between Thanksgiving and It’s a Wonderful Knife, it’s been an especially rewarding year for seasonal slasher fans, an esteemed group that Santa Isn’t Real does not join. Writer and director Zac Locke’s low-budget Christmas massacre barely has a pulse until the final few minutes, only thanks to a few teaspoons of gore. Performances are stiff, characters have no spatial awareness with a killer on the loose, and technical elements can get pretty ugly, all dooming this snoozy Christmas Horror dud to the naughty list.
The film opens with the eggnog-sipping Nikki (Kaya Coleman) cozying up by the fire after setting red frosted cookies and milk by a decorated tree per Christmas traditions. Much to Nikki’s surprise, Santa shimmies down her chimney — and slices her arm open with a kitchen knife before bashing her unconscious with a snowglobe. A year later, Nikki wakes from her coma...

‘Tis the season to watch holiday-themed horror, so we here at Arrow in the Head have decided to compile a list of the Best Christmas Horror Movies! All of the films below are, at the very least, set around Christmastime, and some of them take the connection to the holidays further than that. Here are the top 12 horror movies that we recommend checking out over the next week:
I Come In Peace (1990)
It’s easy to forget that I Come in Peace (a.k.a. Dark Angel) is set around the Christmas holiday, because Christmas is mostly just represented by some set decorations – and you’re distracted from those decorations by all the awesome stuff going on around them. Dolph Lundgren stars as Jack Caine, a Houston detective who doesn’t play by the rules. He’s stuck working with stuffy, suit-wearing FBI agent Larry Smith (Brian Benben), and these...

There have been a number of fairly recent horror/thriller movies that have been marketed as the horror or ‘adult’ version of Home Alone. Now, Home Alone is one of my favourite movies ever and a more adult orientated version should be perfect. Unfortunately it’s not quite as simple as that and although 1989’s Deadly Games is great, nothing since has really captured that same Christmas feeling with a bit more of an edge. How To Deter A Robber is the latest movie to try.
In it, we see a young couple initially suspected of the number of burglaries in their small town. But when their own home gets robbed, they have to face off against the real criminals.

The first season of Manhunt (aka Manhunt: Unabomber) aired on Discovery Channel in 2017. The anthology series moved to Spectrum's exclusive channel for its second season where it was seen by a limited audience. Because Covid-19 has caused a delay for the production of CBS' regular shows, the network picked up the rights to air season two. Will the additional exposure and revenue help Manhunt be renewed for a third season, with a new true-crime tale or, will it be cancelled? Could Manhunt return to CBS if the ratings are strong enough? Stay tuned.

From singers to dancers to danger acts and everything in between, “America’s Got Talent” is TV’s only competition show that embraces all forms of variety acts. Throughout its 15 years on the air, seven singers have claimed victory with the others being a mix of ventriloquists, magicians, etc. (See the “Agt” winners list.) However, there are five specific variety acts that have yet to win the top prize of $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas. Can any of these acts make history for “America’s Got Talent” in Season 15?

The superfans on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” are a controversial bunch, and for good reason. At-home viewers are frustrated, maybe even a little jealous, that these delegates from all 50 states get to call the shots instead of them. (See how the voting process works.) Love ’em or hate ’em, the superfans are here to stay on “The Champions” as we approach the February 10 finale. But are they biased toward homegrown American acts, since they’re obviously already familiar with their stories? Or do the superfans deserve credit for voting for performers from all around the world? Let’s investigate.

Of the Top 50 acts from the first season, the superfans were only allowed to vote five of them into the finals. They were: close-up magician Shin Lim, comedian Preacher Lawson and singer Brian Justin Crum from “America’s Got Talent,” Cristina Ramos from...

“Manhunt” comes back for its second season next month on a new network, having moved over from Discovery Channel to Spectrum Originals for its follow up story, subtitled “Deadly Games,” about the hunt for the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics bomber. Spectrum’s head of originals Katherine Pope spoke to TheWrap on Saturday about the process of reworking the series for its new home, which included adding two extra episodes. “They had written the first episode script and I had seen the [first season], which I thought was really really good. It was a little more straight-ahead than we wanted,” she said during a conversation at the Television Critics Association press tour. “They wanted it to be a little more popcorn.” She said the biggest difference between the Discovery-led season and their version is that they gave the producers more leeway to tell the characters’ story. “We go home with Kathy Scruggs to where she came from,...

Unfunny film plays out like a wretched take on the 80s classic with added gay panic humor and charmless performances
Adam DeVine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson hold the human penis in a similar regard as Martin Scorsese does the holy cross: it is a graven object of obsession and great fear, a totem of power and pain, an icon through which one can find salvation just as easily as damnation. In Game Over, Man!, Netflix’s new feature film from the former Workaholics man-children, phalluses are everywhere. They’re getting kicked, punched, slapped, and generally brutalized. They’re shoved into faces; sometimes this causes delight, and sometimes despair. They’re severed, thrown around, and used as weapons. In this film’s utterly deranged guiding philosophy, the dong is the essence of life.

It’s been just shy of a year since the Comedy Central show Workaholics ended. The series ran for seven seasons and introduced us to our three protagonists in the upcoming Netflix original movie Game Over, Man!. Our three lovable stoner-slackers have been separated this past year chasing solo projects. Adam Devine has been busy staring in movies, doing comedy, and hosting television shows. Anders Holm is on a new NBC series Champions, written and created by the powerful Mindy Kaling. Blake Anderson is appearing in tv and movies – not to mention starting his own clothing line. It’s great their careers are taking them to new directions. But I like most Workaholics fans want to see the bros together.
Game Over, Man! appears to be the return we all hoped for. The fourth call them “bash-brothers” (sure?) is the man behind the camera Kyle Newacheck who portrayed the guys drug dealer Carl on Workaholics.

"Shut up, we can take them!" Netflix has released a hilarious, second full-length trailer for the rowdy action comedy Game Over, Man!, the first feature made by the entire "Workaholics" group. The action film stars all three guys from "Workaholics" - Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Blake Anderson - and is directed by one of the creators of the show. We featured the first full trailer in January earlier this year, but with the film arriving later this month, it's time for another reminder. The story follows three stoner gamer friends about to sign a big financing deal when their main investor is kidnapped by terrorists. These three "zeroes" become heroes (sort of) when the hotel they work at is taken hostage. Yeah, this definitely is the modern stoner/gamer version of Die Hard, and I'm so there for it. I just hope it's actually good! Fire this up below.

Workaholics, the quintessential Comedy Central slacker comedy that helped to launch the careers of Adam Devine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson, went off the air last year, but its creator-stars will grace our screens once again in a hilariously dumb Netflix action-comedy. In Game Over, Man! Devine, Holm, and Anderson team up once again — but instead of getting into office-related […]

"I'm about to go explosive on these motherf*!*rs!" Netflix has debuted the full-length official trailer for the action comedy titled Game Over, Man!, the first feature film made by the "Workaholics" group. The film stars all three guys from "Workaholics" - Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Blake Anderson - and is directed by one of the creators of the show. These three actors have already landed other major roles in all kinds of movies, but this time they're finally coming together to tell a story of three stoner gamer friends about to sign a big financing deal when their main investor is kidnapped by terrorists. These three "zeroes" become heroes (sort of) when the hotel they work at is taken hostage. This seems like a big riff on Die Hard, but with the "Workaholics" guys going stoner crazy, and it looks like hilarious fun. I'm definitely in for this.

If you were trapped in a hostage scenario, would you want the dudes from Workaholics to be the ones to take up arms and stop it? No? Me either, but that’s probably why the scenario is so goddamn hysterical, and why you should immediately watch the trailer for Game Over, Man! Taking from action flicks like Die Hard, the movie is about three waiters (Adam DeVine, Blake Anderson and Anders Holm) who try to thwart a hostage scenario when armed assailants take over a hotel. The trailer... Read More...

Is there anything Netflix can’t do? Sure, critics might’ve dimmed their lights on “Bright,” but there was apparently enough interest from actual audiences: they’ve gone ahead and greenlit a sequel. Their original film slate continues to diversify — last year alone included satire “War Machine,” political fantasy “Okja,” and indie dramedy “The Meyerowitz Stories (New And Selected)” — and now the streaming giant is taking a swing a big, studio style comedy.
