Could have been a contender...

Warning: Spoilers
I must be one of the few viewers who watched (and liked!) Top of the Hill! It was created by Stephen J Cannell, and all credit to him for creating a TV drama about an idealistic congressman.

Sure, it didn't last more than 13 episodes, but it was worth watching. One episode was the 9th one, called "Accurate But Not True" where the media smears one of Congressman Bell's loyal staffers, Link Winslow (played by Tony Edwards) who committed suicide before an "accurate but not true" story about him went to press. Congressman Bell gets to the bottom of the truth and it's a lesson in media responsibility.

Tom Jicha wrote an insightful preview of the series, 'Top Of The Hill' At The Bottom Of The TV Hopefuls in the SunSentinel on 21 Sep 1989.

Sure, Top of the Hill wasn't perfect, but it's still worth watching if you can catch it on YouTube or something like that.
