During its run on The WB (and The CW) from 2000-2007, "Gilmore Girls" emerged as one of TV's most beloved teen drama shows, eventually finding a second life on Netflix. It was lauded for its rapid-fire banter laden with pop culture references, its quaint New England charm, and its quirky characters. All of this was held together by the unshakeable bond between Lorelai and Rory Gilmore — more like the best of friends than mother and daughter.
Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, "Gilmore Girls" has since become the ultimate cozy watch, especially during Pumpkin Spice Latte season. The series takes us through Ivy League ambitions, boyfriend troubles, and some of the greatest will-they-or-won't-they? romantic tension of all time, between the bubbly, perpetually-caffeinated Lorelai and grumpy diner owner Luke Danes.
But, "Oy with the poodles already!" If you're reading this list, you already know what "Gilmore Girls" is all about, so let's start ranking the seasons.

During the 2022 Creative Arts and Primetime Emmys ceremonies, two vastly different age records were broken as the acting victors accepted their prizes. First, 28-year-old Lee Yoo-mi (“Squid Game”) supplanted Samira Wiley as the youngest recipient of either drama guest award, and then Jean Smart (70) improved upon her own oldest comedy actress winner record by clinching a second consecutive trophy for “Hacks.” With one age record having already been smashed at last weekend’s Creative Arts Awards, five more are up for grabs heading into the big primetime show.
Firstly, congratulations are in order for newly crowned Best Drama Guest Actress champ Storm Reid (“The Last of Us”), who, at 20, went from being her category’s third youngest nominee to its youngest winner. In fact, she is the all-time youngest recipient of any guest acting Emmy, also taking that distinction from Lee, who in turn usurped Justin Timberlake. Two more “The Last of Us...

When "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" aired in 2016, fans had so many questions. The biggest of all: Who will Rory Gilmore end up with? Fans of the original series knew she went her own way after graduating from Yale, ending her relationship with Logan as he headed to California's blossoming tech industry. While Rory doesn't need a man to fulfill herself, the promise that all the major guys from Rory's past would return for the Netflix series got fans' hopes up that perhaps she could rekindle something. The answer is complicated.
Rory does rekindle her romance with Logan, but it's far from a fairy tale: he's engaged to another woman. They have an arrangement in which she gets to crash at his swanky London pad (when his Paris-dwelling fiancé is gone) and whatever happens there, stays there. Again, we find Rory sleeping with a spoken-for ex, disappointing fans...

“The Crown” cast’s 2021 sweep of the major drama acting Emmy categories will be hard for any show to ever replicate, but those who have inherited their regal roles are going to make a go of it this year. Judging by Gold Derby’s odds, the Netflix series’ best chance at a victory for its fifth season lies with Imelda Staunton, who is looking to continue the Emmy-winning trend in Best Drama Actress for her take on Queen Elizabeth II, just like Claire Foy (2018) and Olivia Colman (2021). Since voters responded well when the part first changed hands, it would make perfect sense for them to show the same love toward the show’s third and final headliner.
The penultimate season of “The Crown,” which originally streamed last November, covers a six-year period in the reign of the aforementioned queen and focuses on the challenges she faces as the third millennium approaches.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel creators have formalized their next series under their overall deal with Amazon, and it’s got a premise that calls back to the duo’s beloved Bunheads and a couple of recognizable faces.

Many Gilmore Girls fans didn’t love all of the plotlines in the popular show’s sequel series, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. One storyline that didn’t make sense was Logan Huntzberger’s impending marriage to the never-seen Odette.

No TV show has truly had a series finale as long as the network or streaming service can produce a revival. TV sitcoms like Full House, Saved by the Bell, and Will & Grace returned. Dramas have reunited their casts, or at least passed the torch to the next generation. Here are six of the best TV drama revivals of the last decade.
Raymond Lee and Caitlin Bassett | Ron Batzdorff/NBC ‘Dallas’ revived the TV drama until real-life tragedy occurred
TNT brought back the hit drama Dallas with original cast members Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, and Linda Gray as the original Ewings. Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, and Emma Bell played the new generation battling over the family oil business.
Unfortunately, Hagman died while filming the second season. The show quickly adjusted existing footage to explain J.R. Ewing’s off screen death, but the show could never recover.

Carole King is woven into the Gilmore Girls universe so much that it’s difficult to note her involvement. The singer not only cameoed, but she also was the voice behind the show’s iconic theme song. King also appeared in A Year in the Life and had a private concert with cast members.

Gilmore Girls ran from 2000 until it ended in 2007. Gg returned nine years after its ending for a special miniseries called Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and brought back almost every cast member. Although King wasn’t a core cast member, she is still technically a huge part of it, and her appearance in an episode of the miniseries Ayitl proves that.
Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai Gilmore in the series, sat down with Sam Pancake to discuss her career.

Scott Patterson has a bone to pick with "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. On the Aug. 24 episode of his "I Am All In" rewatch podcast, the actor recounted an objectifying scene that made him feel "really embarrassed" while filming nearly 20 years ago. The scene in question unfolds during the 19th episode of season three; while Patterson's Luke Danes fixes a stove in the Dragonfly Inn kitchen, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) discuss his butt at length after the latter accidentally rests her hand on it. They repeatedly comment on and joke about Luke's backside until the diner owner leaves the inn.

Stevens received his big break in the 1980s when he landed the role of teacher David Reardon in the hit NBC series Fame. He starred as Reardon for two seasons between 1982 and 1984. In the summer of 1974, the Carpenters sat down with Rolling Stone writer Tom Nolan at Hollywood’s Au Petit Café for a cover story. Richard and Karen Carpenter, who had spent the past four years scoring massive soft-rock hits like “(They Long to Be) Close to You,” “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Superstar,” and “Top of the World,” took the opportunity to vent to Nolan about the uncool, wholesome image that they felt the press had created for the sibling duo.

Gilmore Girls just turned 20, and if one thing has been clear in the years that the series has been off the air, it's that fans are clamoring for more.
The beloved WB/CW series wrapped in 2007.
Nearly a decade later, Netflix ordered a limited series revival, which spanned four movies, each set in different seasons.
While the response to the sequel was mixed, there is still hope that the show could return on a more permanent basis.
The good news is that the series co-creator is not ruling out another revival, but it would all come down to the availablity of the actors.
Said Amy Sherman-Palladino in an interview with TV Line:
There’s no [obstacle] behind it except for lives and people doing [other] things. [A Year in the Life] was one of those kismet moments where we were kind of all looking at each other and going, ‘Well, let’s...

When Kristin Chenoweth won an Emmy in 2009 for the cancelled ABC comedy “Pushing Daisies,” she joked, “I’m unemployed now, so I’d like to be on ‘Mad Men'” (watch below). Chenoweth’s triumph was hardly the first time someone prevailed at the Emmys for a cancelled TV show, and that’s the one potential bright spot for “Roseanne” scene-stealers John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf following the show’s shocking cancellation. However, while Goodman and Metcalf are still in the running for Emmys, might the icky demise of “Roseanne” thanks to Roseanne Barr‘s racist tweets make the entire program toxic to voters?

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has been picked up by Amazon for a third season even before the critically-acclaimed dramedy’s second season has finished production, individuals with knowledge of the talks confirmed to TheWrap.

The series was also honored with a Peabody Award last month.

Amy Sherman-Palladino is best known for creating “Gilmore Girls” and her current hit show, Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” But did you know she actually got one of her first big breaks writing during the original run of “Roseanne” for six seasons (1990-1994)? Sherman-Palladino (with Jennifer Heath) earned her first and currently only Emmy nomination in 1992 for Best Comedy Writing for the episode “A Bitter Pill to Swallow.” Coming full circle, Sherman-Palladino 26 years later will now have to compete against the “Roseanne” revival at the 2018 Emmys.
Sherman-Palladino earned the original “Roseanne” its Only Best Comedy Writing nomination. “A Bitter Pill to Swallow” deals with Becky (Alicia Goranson) asking Roseanne (Roseanne Barr) to take her to get birth control and her less than excited reaction. It was as funny as it was insightful, giving audiences a glimpse of the lightening quick and hilarious dialogue which would become “Roseanne’s” signature.

Gilmore Girls fans worried that Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino’s new multi-year Amazon Studios deal all but sticks a fork in a second Netflix revival need to simmer down and read the contract’s fine print.
According to multiple sources, the pact — which calls for Team Palladino to develop new series for Amazon beyond their upcoming dramedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel — includes an “out” clause that would allow the pair to spearhead a follow-up to last year’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life for Netflix. Of course, that’s hardly a guarantee that there will be a second revival.
