- A girl gets chopped up with an axe, but the screen goes black before we see anything. Later in a flashback, we see the killer chopping with blood all over.
- A woman get chopped in the head with an ax; we see it hit her head and blood hit her TV.
- Many zombies are shot in the head and set on fire; somewhat graphic. Other zombies are stabbed, killed with lawnmowers, etc with some blood.
- Many numerous gory, bloody, or disturbing images are seen throughout.

- Depsite the comic violence, the film is very moderate-level and not too dark.
- The movie is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but it's still loaded with many disturbing and gruesome images such as dead bodies, mutant animals, people without faces, slug-like parasites, etc.
- There's also a few minor jump scares.

Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The main character hears an audio recording his best friend made as he changed into a zombie, his voice slows and drops in tone, then wails and the recording ends as the main character cries. This is a sympathetic character and although the film is generally comedic, this moment is actually disturbing.
- Both endings (theatrical and alternate) are darkly comic and may be disturbing to some, as they portray the alien slugs as not entirely defeated.
- The detective is suicidal and in one scene he intends to kill himself by turning the gas oven on with all the doors sealed. He is interrupted by the main character.
